"What?" I shriek for the thousandth time as Jonothans eyes never leave my freckled face.. "W..why are you staring at me?"

"I thought we were having a staring competition but I'll settle for a race instead."

"What are you talk-"

"ON YOUR MARKS"

He crouched down like you do before a 100m sprint, watching his hand placements as well as measuring his knee positions-all very professional-. I could feel my ears burn bright red, covering my face and hissing " Jono! C'mon!" I tried to get him to stop, blatantly ignoring me he continued.

"GET SET"

And there he goes and begins to lifts his arse up in the air, I can now officially say my best friend Jonothan Black is an IDIOT.

"GOOOOOOOO!"

"I'm constantly surprised even after fifteen years Jono." I say trying in vain to surpress a giggle. Frowning he looked at me before launching himself upwards and sprinting away.

"You love me!" He screams defiantly as he runs through the corridors, backpack swinging and scarf flying in his mad dash to our lunch table.

Laughing hysterically at the startled faces of those who were so rudely pushed passed, I made my way outside where I reached him to see arms and legs spread out awkwardly taking up too much space for his own good. Managing to mumble, "I do not, but keep telling yourself that Sweety." I sat down on his stomach with a rather audible oompf and started to remove the contents of my lunch tin, pretending to be deaf to my friends struggles at getting me off of him.

I can't deny that we receive more dirty looks than charming ones, especially from the very people we once called friends, Jonohans ex - girlfriend, Mei. She's easily the worst just thinking of the past couple months was bad enough for me let alone Jono.

I remember how nervous Jono was when he finally decided after months of deliberation and encouragemnt on Dyls and my part, that he would ask her on a date. They had been so wonderful together Jono the star footballer and Mei the school paper editor. No one knows what really went wrong, alhough rumors with half truths began circling the school, causing their relationship of a couple months to shrivell up, leaving them both bitter and unable to communicate without snide or hurtfull remarks. Mei who was once the most beautiful, caring girl made a complete hundred and eighty degree turn in the last six months. Dropping the paper and rising up through the teen ranks via blackmail and becoming friends wih those on top.

Luckily I didn't seen Tyde again. I just wish...

"Oompf", a very unladylike grunt escaped my lips as my head bowed from the impact, turning my body to face the direction the ball came from subconsciously rubbing my head hoping to decrease the already throbbing head ache. My eyes shooting daggers at the only person in that direction. A small gangly girl. A laugh echoed from a boy standing to my left, a deep chuckle I knew far too well.
