Sorreltail died in the great battle with dark forest because of injuries. She is the mother of cinderheart, poppyfrost, honeyfren, seedpaw, lilyheart and molepaw and is the mate of Brackenfur. Sorreltail is a sturdy,slender,dappled,tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat with amber eyes,a white chest and paws,and a soft tail.

Firestar's Quest

Sorrelpaw is an apprentice along with her littermates, Rainpaw and Sootpaw. Her mentor is Sandstorm.

In Cinderpelt's den, she is complaining about a thorn in her front paw. Cinderpelt scolds her for making a fuss, and tells Firestar that Sandstorm has her paws full with her. She also confronts Sorrelpaw later and says most of the warriors around her have had much worse than a thorn in their paws, and she should learn to be quiet about things that barely matter. Later, Sorrelpaw is seen wincing in pain as Cinderpelt pulls the thorn out of her paw.

When her mother, Willowpelt, is killed in a badger attack, Sorrelpaw is devastated, along with her two littermates. Cinderpelt takes care of the three of them, but eventually lets them stay with Ferncloud and Brightheart in the nursery instead, since they were so newly apprenticed. Cinderpelt thinks it wouldn't hurt them to be treated like kits for a little while.
