Emmett/Emily

Everyone was seated in the kitchen eating and taking about what they did that day. There was a lot of laughs while Nicolette told everyone about how she had made a guard pee himself, and then found a room full of nukes, tanks, guns. Lots of stuff that ment Christmas to us. Especially Nicolette. Emmett stood up from the table.

"I have to go check on Emily. I'll be right back." He said. As he walked down the hall he thought of Emily when she fell for the first time. It was enough to make him cry. He thought she was dead and what scared him the most was that she would have been angry that that's how she died. When he got to their room he heard her mumbling. She was talking in her sleep. He closed the door behind him and sat on the bed next to her. She got so scared sometimes that she simply shut down. Literally, she just slept or passed out. He gently shook her.

"Hey Emily, are you hungry. We got our rations." She stirred and sat up, grabbing his arm.

"I had a bad dream Emmett. It was dark still. The smoke was everywhere and I couldn't find you." She said, holding his arm closer to her head. He pushed her over slightly and sat down next to her.

"It was just a bad dream." He held her close and shushed her every time she started to cry. He knew that no matter what she would never be the girl he remembered in his childhood.

Nicolette

The only sound to be heard was the swishing of trees as the wind made the leaves fall from their place. One leaf drifted onto the balcony. Nicolette picked it off the rail and stared at it for an eternity before dropping it into thin air. It fluttered away as she sat down. There was a fight at the warehouse today. She had lied to her friends about what she actually did that day. The truth was that she had been picking up a shipment of supplies, and someone shot someone. The one who started the fight was dead, but so was her partner. She sat down and put her head against the wall. She was successful in getting the supplies and at least there was that. A few tears escaped her eyes and she tried to blink them away but was unsuccessful. Her head dropped to her hands and she tried to ignore the pain in her frontal lobe. Soon it overpowered her and she got up to look in the box that Jessica had gotten at work, for Geltin Reliever. It was the knew pain killer that was in gel form. She spread it across her forehead and went to find a bottle of wine that wood last the night, before she went back to the balcony.
