Kade ran and ran until he reached the cafeteria. Just being there reminded him of his times here with Jack. But that thought ruined it. Just knowing that somewhere in the school Jack is killing people and is hunting him. Kade felt something well up inside of him.
"What is this feeling? I can't stand it..." Kade felt that thing move inside of him again. It's like there was a being that shook inside of him, wanting to escape into the world and follow it's own desires...Whatever it was, Kade decided to go into the cafeteria. Hopefully he'd find something in there that would help him, someone even. He entered and found the usual room altered so drastically, that he didn't even recognize it at first.
Where there were usually tables, there was nothing. Just empty space bordering a long red carpet. The carpet led to a throne surrounded by masked puppets who were kneeling before someone. That someone sat upon the throne and was dressed in magnificent purple robes. The door slammed behind Kade as he entered and the puppet's looked up to see him. They must have recognized him as an intruder as they poised themselves as knights to attack, but they were stopped by a gesture from the man on the throne.
"I'm glad you could make it, Kade. As you can see, I've been able to realize my desire. Look at this, at what I've created! I was able to finally become king and rule over all of you. I can take whatever I want, I can do whatever I want, and I won't ever have to worry about someone like you or Jack stepping out of line again!" The man moved with super human speeds and stood just inches in front of Kade, revealing his deep purple eyes.
"Karl..."
"Yes, that is my name, but they all call me Lord, as they are my army...So, tell me, Kade, what is your desire? As you can see, mine was to rise above all of you, but it doesn't seem like you have found yours. You're certainly not a puppet, but you also aren't much of human being. I mean all you've done is run from your old lapdog, Jack, as he beats your beloved teacher to a bloody pulp!"
That enraged Kade to the point of seething. But a voice inside him told him to calm down. His breathing slowed and he began to look at Karl with intense focus.
"What's the matter, Kade? Cat got your tounge?" Karl began to laugh as he snapped his fingers and his subjects surrounded Kade. A violet puppet began to reach towards Kade but his hand was singed. The puppet fell back and screeched as it clutched it's burning hand.
"My, my...what an interesting power you have. Perhaps this is your inner desire's manifestation...but it's nothing compared to my power." Karl walked over to the screaming puppet and crushed it beneath his feet. When he finally finished stomping on his subject, Karl turned to see Kade flashing with light. In Kade's hand was a spear made of light, and again, Kade burned with rage. Every bit of that rage was channled into his spear. As he threw it, time seemed to stop and Karl tried to dodge.
When the smoke cleared, Kade kneeled down and breathed heavily. There were scattered puppets everywhere and what remained of Karl stood, dazed. His right arm was gone and he was missing most of his right rib cage. Karl fell to his knees and stayed. When he regained his strength, Kade began to leave the cafeteria in search of another safe haven.
"You...you think...you can just...walk away...from the king?!" Kade turned to see what remained of Karl looking up at him. Karl raised his left hand and the puppets' bodies began converging upon him. They all became one, and, when the fusion was complete, Karl had been transformed into a full man wearing armor and his kingly robes.
"I AM THE KING. YOU WILL OBEY!" Karl unsheathed a massive blade and prepared to strike Kade with it. Kade attempted to summon his spear, but no matter what, it wouldn't work. As Karl's blade drew closer to killing him, Kade began to think of something, and the voice rung in his ears again. At that moment a figure stood before him. He was so covered in light that Kade could not see him fully. The figure caught Karl's blade and jumped high into the air. The figure came down with a massive kick that came straight through Karl's armor. Kade began blacking out as he watched the figure demolish whatever remained of Karl, and eventually he fainted.
When he woke he was still in the cafeteria. Karl's dishevled body lay on the ground away from him, but the figure had disappeared.
"What's happening to me...?"
