RILEY'S POV
It's been two days since I travelled through time back to the year 1582. Nobunaga brought me to the battlefield as his lucky charm but, I hated every bit of it and I didn't care if I was being Nobunaga's lucky charm. I thought for a moment that Nobunaga had a heart but, I wondered if he even cared about human lives.
After the battle was over, I couldn't remember how we got back to Azuchi castle but when I came to, I was in my room. I sat in my room letting the tears spill out of my eyes and I couldn't remember the last time I've felt so scared.
'I won't last for three months at this rate...I want to go home!! I want to go back to the present!! I want to go back to Ireland and be with my Mother!!'
I wiped away my tears and then Hideyoshi appeared.
"Riley?"
I quickly wiped away my tears and I looked at Hideyoshi and I said to him.
"Hey, Hideyoshi...what's up?"
"I brought you some necessities...hm?"
Hideyoshi looked at my face and he could see the tear stains on my cheeks.
"Were you...crying?"
"Well can you blame me?! I hated it! I hated seeing all those people getting killed!! I was nearly killed too if Nobunaga hadn't..."
I lowered my head again and the tears began to gather in the corner of my eyes again.
"When I saw that battlefield...I...I was scared out of my mind...*sob, sob*"
"H-hey! don't start that! calm yourself!!"
"How can I?! how can a man like Nobunaga enjoy killing people like that?! is he really going to kill the vassals, the woman and children too?!"
I started crying again and then Hideyoshi sweatdropped when he saw me crying. Hideyoshi then said to me.
"Kill? Lord Nobunaga would never do something so wasteful. What good would killing do?"
I sat there listening to Hideyoshi while my tears continued to spill out of my eyes.
"The traitor will be stripped of his land, which will be put under the control of a new Daimyo. The wounded will be treated and sent home to work the land as farmers and peasants once more. They won't be allowed to become Samurai or warriors again though."
'So...I just misinterpreted him?'
I thought to myself as my nerves started to calm down.
"Do you not believe me, Riley?"
I looked away from Hideyoshi with an 'I'm not convinced' look on my face.
"All right, do you know why Lord Nobunaga went out personally to quash the revolt, taking only a small force with him?"
"No, I don't."
"I thought you didn't that's why I want to help you understand."
I looked at Hideyoshi and he explained to me.
"Look, I don't approve of you, but, you are a member of the Oda forces now, it's important that you understand why our Lord does things the way he does."
I listened to Hideyoshi's explanation.
"That rumour about Nobunaga being near death after the attack at Honno-Ji? it's already spreading, there will be others who hear it and think the time is ripe for revolt. Only be definitively crushing this revolt can Lord Nobunaga prevent others from rising up against him. There's a point to everything Lord Nobunaga does."
