3RD PERSON POV

In the shadows, Kennyo and his men were hiding in the shadows and they were waiting for the moment to strike.

"Kennyo-sama, when can we attack?"

"We'll wait until they're weakened and then we'll strike."

Kennyo said with an evil smirk on his face. Back at the inn, Riley was heading to the main hall where dinner was being served until she stopped in her tracks because she knew something didn't feel right.

RILEY'S POV

I looked out of the window and tonight was a full moon and I can tell something didn't feel right.

'I don't like this...something doesn't feel right in the air...'

I thought to myself with a worried look until my stomach started growling.

"Ugh, I hope the others don't hear that."

I mumbled quietly and I then got to the main hall. I sat next to Nobunaga and the hall was noisy with the warlords and the other vassals chatting away.

'I haven't been in this kind of atmosphere since school...that feels like a distant memory.'

"What's the matter with you? not hungry?"

I looked at Nobunaga and I said to him.

"I'm fine, I just don't have that much of an appetite that's all."

*Stomach growling*

"Hahahaha! your stomach is telling you a different story."

"Urasai!"

I shouted angrily with a hint of blush on my cheeks and I started to eat dinner. However, after eating three bites of the dinner, I started to feel dizzy and light headed. Nobunaga noticed this and he asked me.

"Riley, what's the matter?"

Nobunaga asked me but, his voice started to sound blurry and muffled.

"Nobun...aga...."

I mumbled and then I collapsed in his arms.

"Riley!"

I could faintly hear Nobunaga's panicked voice before I passed out. I didn't know how long I was out but, when I woke up, I was in my room and then a familiar voice spoke up.

"Riley? are you awake?"

I looked to the side and it was Ieyasu.

"Ieyasu?

I asked as I tried sitting up but, Ieyasu stopped me from sitting up and he said to me.

"Don't try and sit up yet."

"What on earth happened to me?"

"You were poisoned."

"Poisoned?"

I asked in a surprised tone and then Ieyasu explained to me.

"It turns out the innkeeper planned to poison us and weaken the soldiers as well."

"Is Nobunaga and the others OK?"

"Some of them nearly fell victim to the poison but, the other soldiers will be fine after being treated."

"Thank goodness..."

I mumbled in a relief tone and then Ieyasu explained to me.

"Right after you collapsed, Nobunaga-sama stayed beside you until the poison was completely gone from your system, it was weird though, he held you close in his arms and he stayed beside you until the poison was gone from your body, I've never seen him looked worried or panicked before."
