"So let me get this question over my head Mr Banks, you are getting all of this information from one squad, how do you know what happens to them?" He was good with the question. But Mr Banks was not going to let that question block his path.

"Vidcoms, CCTV recordings. Hello? I did say about how we are moving up the tech systems." They looked sternly at him. "Ok....Well, after that, they spent some odd months floating around in space, not using up their Hyper Drives. They had set off with a small fleet, this fleet would break up into individual frigates and each one would investigate a separate Solar System and it's planets. This new quadrant that we discovered had hundreds of them, all without information on what lies on that planet and what we have not yet discovered. The Longbow went on to the task of Quadrant-XC14, Solar System-45JI and having the luck of visiting a Planet we know as Propeus..."Status: Exiting Crew Hibernation. Entering the quadrant...

"Rise 'n Shine, gibbons..." The waking up call, the worst part. Cryogenics is a hard thing to cope with. I though can cope with it due to me being used to the fucked up shit it does to your head. My eyes flickered wildly as the Cold slowly thawed and released me from my Icy Captivity. As the pod opened, I peaked my head around, seeing many of the new recruits vomiting on exit.

"Hey, Pritchards, over here..." I sighed.

"Fine, coming....let me stretch my legs first..." I sat down, bending my legs in and straightening them again. I hate Cryogenics because it can mess with your mind as well, if it is your first few times that is.

Once I approached our I.C. he called Adams over.

"Well Gentlemen, it seems our Sol' System has come across a few new planets worth investigating. This one, Propeus, especially. It shows plantation and liquids oozing from it's surface. We believe though that the approximate time before we get there is a day. So I would try to fit in any training activities for yourselves. You lot are going to be the first few to land here." It was short, but we understood everything.

"Yes sir." We saluted him out of the door. "Right, we got a day to get some training in and duties. I would get packed the lot of you, we start training in an Hour. Understood?"

"Yes Corporal." We all replied in a growling chorus.

An approximate hour from then, we were all down there. Pumping our fumes and our bloodstreams. Anna was there...the whole crew were there. Simple circuit training, nothing technical. The room stank of B.O. and sweat. Horrible, but still smells like the U.K. When I was in the middle of my Squats, the I.C. came up to me.

"Pritchards, can you and Private Omana go down to the engine deck. I had reports of a few engineers calling out an odd sight in the works." Confusing. A strange sight in the works?

"Uh, yes sir." Suddenly, Omana was by my side.

"We have to go meet up with another patrol downstairs." He stated. I did not want to let me take charge. Omana was a large, Ugandan tank. His muscles weren't bigger than his brain. He is the sort of ultimate human you would not want to fuck with.

"Lead the way Private." He complied.

"Shit, I cannot see a thing. Who got the lights?" Someone must be holding a surprise party or something, because all I could hear was the engines whirring away. "Idina, help me with...wah!" I tripped over something. Drawing my torch, shock filled me as I jumped back. "What the fuck! That guy!" The engineer who must have been responsible for the call lay torn up, resting next to the comm-link.

"Holy shit, what wanker might have done this?" Idina was starting to shake, he slowly drew his firearm, as the rest of us followed.

"Idina, Ramsey. Go check over there where the bodies are, try and identify them. Me and Omana will comm-link this to command." They nodded, looked at each other. I could see they felt fear from who was down here with us. I handed Ramsey my Rifle. "Just in case..."

I linked up to command, they were confused to why we called so early in our patrol.

"Sir, we have something bad to say...someone had murdered Deck-P's engineers. Torn them apart. I'm not sure what bu..."

"What? Repeat, did you say...Torn up?" I nodded into the camera. I explained how we had no evidence into who or how the hostile had done this act. "I see, well...Investigate further if necessary."

"Understood. Omana, try and get som..." A scream echoed behind us. I heard shots, flashes were shown in the darkened distance. "Idina? Ramsey? What the hell is going on?" I heard nothing but static. Omana raised his sidearm, and I followed. When the shooting stopped, we kept aim into the darkness...Only to see Ramsey running out. He looked like he was shocked.

"Something is on the ship! SOMETHING IS ON THE...ARGH!" He quickly turned to his left, hearing something. As something dived at him through the shadows, he kept his finger pressed tightly on the trigger. The....the 'Thing' that pounced on him threw him into the Machines. As he was compacted into blood and his bones were crushed, his weapon fired wildly, hitting most of the support beams that lift the ship. The 'thing' looked at us. All we could see was the glisten of eyes.

"Fire! FIRE!" We sprayed into the darkness, not concentrating on the fact that the Support Beam was malfunctioning from it's damage. During our Firefight, the ship began to creak. Something was about to happen...something bad! Still firing, I plunged my clenched fist onto the alarm.

Jake's P.O.V.

"Come on. Lift those people like their lives depended on it! You call that a medical evac? I've seen dead people do better Evacs than that!" I was yelling at the squad...they all seemed to be acting fine. I guess I forgot to let them rest. Oh well, they had worked hard enough. I guess I could let them take...

That is when it sounded. The alarm, we all stopped, sweating and tired.

"RETURN TO YOUR STATIONS IMMEDIATELY." The automated message sounded. We turned to get back to our stations, only to be thrown to a side. It felt like the ship was tilting. Wait....it was! The training room all were thrown off their feet and slid down the slope. I looked around me, watching panicking faces as they crowded together on the wall. Supports and railings failed and fell down their drops, making us fall with them. Men and women all were thrown down a pit of railings, smashing onto floors beneath them and into the abyss of the Power Grid.

I pinned myself to the support structures of the room, trying to stop the sliding. The alarm went wild as I saw Grunts trying to push back some large equipment closing in on them. They were resting on the structures like me, but the beam was not holding. They were pushing, but the equipment had too much weight on it. The huge box pressed in on them, until they were being crushed. I closed my eyes as I heard screaming and bones cracking.

"Why is this happening? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!?" I repeated to myself over and over. I opened my eyes as I felt weightless, like I was flying. Only to find my being tossed by some impact, plunging straight into a wall, blackening the vision of hell in that room.

(The reason I updated this so closely was because I was bored today. Not every chapter will be updated everyday like this one. I will try to have about a weeks span inbetween each chapter, maybe less. But schoolwork is coming up, and with my other Cadet stuff makes me have little time to update, so expect slow updating. Hope you enjoyed this one. Comment what you think about it.)
