The welcoming day, is the day where second, third and fourth year students set up booth in search of new students from the first year to join their organizations or clubs. It is also a perfect chance for students to get to know one another, create more connections before the school year official starts.
One of the most popular ones, is the Student CCG Association. New female and male students stand around the stall, each taking turn to ask the committees questions. In the age of technology, students tap their student ID they wear around their neck to register as a member of the organization.
Unlike most other student's organization where they accepted all, Student CCG Association and decide who they can accept as members due to their over popularity and a huge registration requests each year.
Ever since CCG was founded, each nation had been funding their branch tremendously with advanced technology equipment and the necessaries that are required to fight a ghoul. Ghouls, are not just human craving for blood. Cases of inhuman strength were seen in every encounters. That's why Ghoul Investigator became the highest paying job due to its harsh training requirement, tough duties and dangerous missions.
And organizations from University received special funding, for they are the next generations of CCG.
"Why don't you apply this year?" Hyori looks at Airi in curious.
"I probably won't get accepted." Airi chuckles, waving her hand as she pulls Hyori away from the crowd of students standing near. "Aren't you curious? What if there are a few of them among us?"
"How can one not be curious?..." Hyori said dejectedly. That's also why she finds the CCG officers attractive. The way they are able to handle a ghoul with ease, awes her in many ways. "They feed on you... in most cases, polices always find the victims dead."
Just talking about the subject brings chill to Hyori. She remembers seeing them on TV daily until she has to blocks herself away from all those daily news channels about ghouls.
The ones who were infected by the virus 100 years ago passed the infected DNA to their children through births. Some were born as half ghoul and half human without a choice. Some were born with less than 20% DNA of ghouls. And governments take extra measures in giving those children and adults a normal life as long as they have a small device implanted in their bodies. That device acts as a measurement and GPS for the government to keep an eye on them if they act unnaturally and use their inhuman strength to attack humans. The device is implanted close to their heart, so when ones want to take it out by force, it will automatically end their lives as well.
Night approaches quicker when one is enjoying their time. The cool wind of late August is especially comfortable during the night. Fresh breezes carries the soft scent of late August, brushing the fallen leaves on the changing color grass.
Students gathered at the park in big groups. The activity of the night is about to commence. The current students' favorite activity to get to know the new students. It's where students introduce themselves to other people in the student organizations to get to know each other more.
Tteokbokki, jajjangmyun, kimbap and beverages are provided by student committee, funded by the school. Students laugh and enjoy their time together. Each group gathers at different location to prevent from overcrowding one space. A few at the park in front of the University, a few behind the University, smaller groups gathered in big science classrooms, and some in stadiums.
Organizations are grouped together by the connections the organization's committees. It is usually the Asian American Student Association, Latin American Student Association, Foreign Student ASA that are grouped together as one. Then there are also Anime Student Association, Japanese Culture Appreciation, Video Game Army, League of Legends Student Association, Virtual Reality World Army, and Mobile Games Apps Developers, and many more.
