Chapter 8: Dead

Oliver walked outside and found Willam crying by his mother who was on the ground her eyes open. Oliver rushed over and checked her pulse. He didn't find one. "Is she d-dead" The 11-year-old William cried. "Come on buddy," He said. "we can't leave her" William cried. Oliver sighed but he was right. "Okay Okay, We'll take her," He said. "but you gotta stay right by me okay?" Oliver said. "where are we going?" Willam asked looking intimidated. Oliver kneeled down to his high and took off his hood and mask. "Ollie?" William mumbled "you're my dad...?" he asked. Oliver nodded "I am and I'll answer any questions you have but right now we need to get you and your mom somewhere safe so I can go save someone I care about" He explained. "the Flash?" Willam asked. "yep," Oliver said trying to sound positive for Willams sake. "Now I'm gonna carry your mom but you have to come with me okay?" he said. William nodded. Oliver picked up her body and carried her all the way to star labs using the back rodes with Will following close behind. Once inside he told William to stay in the cortext as he took his mother back to the med bay with Katelyn. "She's dead," Oliver said once they were out of ear-shot. "I can tell. I'm sorry" Oliver laid her body down and going back into the cortex. "where on we with locating Barry?" Oliver asked cisco. "tracking his suit now," Cisco said. Once Oliver walked in William was glued to his side as he put more arrows in his quiver. Willam looked at his bo that was on the desk running his fingers across the string. "You like bows?" Oliver asked looking down at him. The boy nodded "Mom never let me get one though" He said. "When all this is over I'll teach you if you'd like," Oliver said. Will nodded "okay cool". "Got it He's... two blocks from Jitters." Cisco said standing. "I'll vibe us there," he said grabbing his gloves and opening a breath. Oliver went to go but William grabbed his hand. "I've got to go get Barry right now I'll be right back," Oliver said. "who?" Will asked. "The Flash" Oliver said. William nodded. "just sit here and wait for us to get back," He said and Willam let go and Oliver and Cisco went through the breach. Barry was there being held onto a wall by a young speedster. Oliver grabbed him and threw him against a wall. He slammed into it hard and Barry fell to the floor and it was clear what the man was doing seeing as the lower half of Barry's suit was off and the other speedsters zipper was undone. Oliver punched the guy hard a few times before he could run and eventually he was knocked out and Cisco put meta-cuffs on him. He then turned to Barry. "Bear?" Oliver said softly kneeling next to him. The speedster flinched But when he saw it was Ollie he grabbed him hugging him tightly and crying. "Shh Bear it's okay. I'm here I've got you" Oliver said softly holding him as he shook. Cisco made a breach back to Star Labs Barry was still shaking and clinging to Oliver like a lifeline. Oliver gently picked Barry up only causing he moved to grip Oliver tighter whimpering softly. "I've got you," Oliver said softly carrying Barry through the breach with Katelyn and Cisco following. Once they got through William was watching clearly scared. Oliver carried Barry to a different room than William's mother and laid him down. Katelynn ran an x-ray to make sure nothing was wrong and Oliver was by his side with Willam glued to his side.. "You're healthy," she said rubbing Barry's shoulder. Barry nodded "thanks Kate" he mumbled. She smiled sympathetically and left the room. "I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you," Oliver said quietly a tear rolling down his cheek. "You did everything you could Ollie it's not your fault." Barry said back softly moving over and making room for Oliver in the bed. Oliver looked at Will "you can go sit over there bud" He said. Willam nodded and went to sit down. Oliver sat next to Barry and Barry wrapped his arms around him laying his head on Oliver's chest. "Don't blame yourself Ollie" Barry said softly. "But I do... it's my job as your boyfriend to protect you and I couldn't...I couldn't even protect my son" he said looking over at the already sleeping William. "Ollie doesn't think like that I know that you did everything you could," Barry said looking up at Oliver. "And you saved me and William," he said. Oliver shook his head "but not his mother" he mumbled. "i'm sorry" Barry said softly. Oliver sighed and kissed Barry's forehead but was frowning. Barry smirked and Oliver knew what he was gonna do. "Don't?" Oliver said but Barry was already looking up at Oliver with a smile that practically lit up the whole room Oliver couldn't help but smiled. "How do you do that?" He said smiling at Barry. "Do what?" He chuckled. "Make me smile when everything has gone to shit, just by smiling," Oliver said. Barry shrugged and kissed Oliver softly. "I love you Ollie" Barry softy said as he pulled back. "I love you to Bear," he said softly as Joe rushed in. "Are you okay I heard you were hurt" Barry sat up slightly. "Yeah I'm okay thanks to Ollie," Barry said smiling at Oliver in a loving way. Joe glanced between him and Oliver. "You know bear I'm still pissed about you breaking my little girl's heart but you guys are a cute couple," Joe said. "I'm sorry I tried to let her down easy but... with the baby..." he trailed off. "BABY!" Joe yelled making Barry flinch and William wake up. "Sorry I thought you knew..." Barry said. "Why would she not tell me?" Joe asked "probably because she was planning on putting him up for adoption but I'm gonna keep him," Barry said. "That's good I'm glad you're stepping up bear," Joe said. "Of course I am," Barry said. "When is the baby expected?" He asked "four months," Barry said. "Wow. And he's a boy?" Joe asked. Barry nodded. Joe nodded "I need to think I'll see you guys later." Joe said leaving. Willam went back to sleep and Barry laid back down cuddling Oliver. "So have you picked a name?" Oliver asked. "Henry," he said."like your father?" Oliver asked. Barry nodded "I haven't decided on a middle name but... I was thinking about jones..." he said looked up at Oliver. "After you," He said. Oliver blushed lightly "that's really sweet Bear," he said softly. "You think it's a good idea?" Barry asked. "If you want Sure I'd be honored," Oliver said. Barry smiled and kissed Oliver softly. "Henry Jones Allen it is," he said. Oliver smiled and kissed Barry again. "Can we go home now?" Barry asked. Oliver nodded and stood up helping Barry up. "Does anything hurt?" Oliver asked. "I'm fine Ollie," Barry said kissing him softly. Oliver nodded and walked over to William and waking him up. Willam yawned and stood streahing before his eyes went to Barry who was still in his suit. Oliver smiled "He's a big fan," Oliver said to Barry. Barry smiled softly "Like father like son" Barry answered causing Oliver to Blush lightly and chuckle. "Come on let's head home," Oliver said. "What about my mom," Willam said. "Is she okay did the dr.lady help her?" Oliver looked at Barry with a loss of words. "Umm, we'll talk about it later," Barry said. "No I wanna see her," William said. "we'll talk about it when we get home," Oliver said. "Come on let's go" "no!" William insisted "I wanna see her" "She's dead" Oliver snapped sightly causing the boy to flinch and look down tear welling in his eyes. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap," He said putting his hand on Williams sholder who only shrugged it off. Oliver looked a little hurt by this. Barry walked over and laid a hand on Oliver's shoulders. William cried softly "It's okay kid. you know when I was your age, I lost my mom too" Barry said kneeling down to Williams hight. "r-really?" He sniffled. Barry nodded "Yeah she was killed but you know what she's the reason I am who I am today. She the reason I used my powers for good to protect the people of Central City. She the reason I became a CSI. Even good came come from the worst of tragedies" Barry said. William hugged him tightly clinging to him. Barry picked him up and let him cry into his shoulder trying not to cry himself as he thought of his mother. Oliver rubbed Barrys back gently smiling sympathetically. Barry carried William outside to head home. "hey will I bet I know what would cheer a flash fan up. How about instead of taking your dad's boring motorcycle I run us home?" William smiled and nodded. "Boring was uncalled for," Oliver said but was smiling. "I'll see you guys at home." He said pecking Barry's lips. "I'll stop in Keystone and get the pizza you really like," He said and speed off with William in his arms.
