why didn't you do it?

you and your revolutionary ideas;

the very heart of the parade

pulsing

to a melody everyone was all too

enveloped in familiarity with -

bathe in the spotlights of adoration,

the currents stroking your ego.

they glorify you

drown out my voice raised to an octave.

thousand questions,

no answers -

what now?

struggling to keep your monuments up

you didn't listen, you never do.

the silence, it's unusual

deafening -

speak!

answer!

don't you dare say time ran out.

your smile is a frail tremor of fear

isn't this what you wanted?

dove and deer can hear your screams -

no initiative

too soon

stop

it's too much

move your hands faster

. . .

i can't.

why not?

i thought it was you

you whose ears they smothered in applause

clapping, clapping, clapping

for you.

displaying rose girls in glass vases -

you, with a mind greater than einstein

questioning the impossible.

it's blinding, you say

as you lay in the shade of a hundred trees

the sunlight seeping in from beyond walls of green

dark. cool.

and i on the hard concrete -

white. hot.

just like your pristine image.

you wouldn't even be here

without me.

. . .

they love you.
