Two years had almost passed since the incident but all the memories were very vivid in his mind. Each minute detail about her was carved in his head. She was simply irresistible for him. Her long hair, her brown orbs, each feature was still mesmerising even in his thoughts.

The sunlight was seeping into his room from the half open blinds. He turned and tossed restlessly, then finally woke up unwilling. Lying on his bed he started staring at the ceiling. Like most of his mornings, even today his thoughts ran back to her.

He smiled a little thinking about her, but then again as always her thoughts were always followed by an undefinable ache in  his heart. One day she was sitting beside him telling him about one of her many irrelevant theories about something that didn't make sense making him laugh so hard he had to make her stop and then the next day she was gone. She just disappeared.

Tears started brimming in his eyes. He found himself questioning. Had he not made enough effort to look for her? Had he not searched somewhere? Had he no-
His thoughts were cut off by his alarm clock. He sighed knowing that it was 7'o clock in the morning which meant that he had to go through one more dreadful day in school. He switched off the alarm clock and then sat up in his bed.

" Ayyy" he stretched. Getting out from his bed he headed to the bathroom.
After doing his morning routine he ran downstairs to the kitchen.
" Good morning honey" his mum said in a cheerful tone.
" Mornin" he replied trying his best to give her a decent smile.
" Here's your breakfast. Eat up" she said putting his plate in front of him.
" I just want to have cereal." He said. His mother sighed " do you plan on surviving just by eating cereal your whole life or what?" Her voice was laced with concern .
" But m-" he started only to be cut off by his mum.
" No, you're eating this and leaving for school. No excuses. I'm going to change for school now. You better be ready before I come downstairs, okay."
"Hmmm" he said giving in to his mum.
His mother left the kitchen and he silently and half heartedly ate his breakfast. He dressed up for school, carried his backpack and ran downstairs hoping he had managed to finish before his mother.

He opened the front door and was greeted by a package in the doorstep. He picked it up scrutinizing it. It was the size of a shoebox wrapped with white paper and on one side " CHOI SOOBIN " was written with a black marker. Apart from his name nothing else was written, no address, no nothing. He was about to return to his room to open the package but just then his mum called out coming out of her room fiddling with her handbag looking for something  "soobin? You're ready?"
Hearing her voice he quickly hid the package inside the storage closet which was near the front door. He couldn't let this package get into the hands of his mother because if that happens he might never be able to find out what's inside that box. He was coming out from the storage closet when his mother asked " what are you doing there? You'll get your uniform dirty"
" Huh? Nothing, just trying to find where I kept my ummm my.."
" You're what?"
" M-my music sheets."
" All of a sudden? You haven't been playing for almost two years now."
" Let's just go. We'll be late otherwise"he said trying desperately to change the subject.
His mother checked her watch and said
" Yes, we should leave. We'll talk about this later."
" Why not." He retorted.
His mother was a firm lady who liked to fulfill her needs and wants herself. Eventhough they could hire a chef she liked to cook food for her son and for her. There were other workers in their house who looked after the laundry and other stuffs because she was too busy to look after the house eventhough she wanted to.

His mum stepped inside her Audi followed by her son. The drive to school was filled with silence as usual. When they reached the school he was about to step outside when his mother caught his right hand. He looked at her with surprise all over his face. His mother never showed affection so openly and always refrained from physical contact especially in school.
" Soobin, are you alright? I'm really worried about you. You don't eat enough,  you don't sleep properly, you d-"
" Ma, I'm fine. Don't worry about me. I'm sorry I made you worry, I didn't mean to."
" It's fine. I'm your mother after all. Let me do some of the worrying, okay? Now go along" she said and gave him a warm smile before letting go of his hand.
" Oh Soobin, I don't want to hear any more complaints from your teachers okay. You have to keep your good reputation intact. Understood?" And here he was thinking why his mother was acting so unlike her.
" Yeah, I'll try my best. Bye" he said walking away from the car and his mother.

Soobin reached his home before his mother because he wanted to open that package from before. He hurried to the storage closet only to find that box missing. He searched for it in the entire closet but he couldn't find it.

From behind him he heard someone clear their throat. Soobin turned around to see Mr. Kang, their housekeeper.
" In case you happen to be searching for that box which had your name, then I have kept it in your room, sir."
" Thanks, but don't let mother kn-"
" Yes I won't let her find out" Mr. Kang replied with a smile and walked away.
Soobin closed the door of the closet and rushed to his room. When he entered his room he saw that box sitting there on top of his study table in his study which was next to his huge room. He closed the door and locked it from inside.

He went to his study and dropped his backpack on the floor. He walked to his study table and sat on the chair. He glanced at the box before exhaling. He then took a cutter from his pencil stand. Ripping open the wrap around the box he then opened the box. Shocked, would be an understatement because he was thunder struck after opening the box.
He couldn't believe it. He was feeling uncountable feelings simultaneously looking inside it. He had almost given up looking for her but after seeing this he was sure he would find her. But after seeing this, one thing was sure, he felt as if a huge weight had lifted itself from his chest. He was glad.
