"What's this?"

She was staring at the small, stuffed, purple bear like it was jar full of shit. Owen looked down at his favorite, childhood toy he had spent the afternoon combing the attic for, feeling a little insulted. Yeah, the bear was a little dusty and was missing a leg, but it was still pretty perfect to him.

"Its a bear, a toy, you know." he shrugged as she slowly accepted the bear. "You have a lot of bad dreams and maybe its because of the baby and maybe you having that will help," he rambled.

A small smile pulled at Ally's lips. "I don't know if I should be insulted or touched."

Owen shrugged again. "Whatever," he turned around and continued setting up his mat on the floor. "I just want to get some actual sleep tonight, considering we have to suffer through school in the AM." He glanced at her, but she was still looking down at the bear. For whatever reason she had opted to wear his T-shirt to bed despite them going to get her clothes the day before. She didn't comment on it, so neither did he.

She only slid underneath the covers of his bed after he had laid down and feigned sleep. "What's his name?" She asked after clicking off the lamp on his nightstand. "I know you're not asleep."

"Oh, really, maybe I was trying to go to sleep?" He snapped. Ally didn't respond. "Mr. Purple, his name is Mr. Purple, can I go to sleep now?"

"Kid you was very creative, I see," she laughed softly. Owen opened his eyes slowly, her laugh making the knot in his chest uncurl a little.

"You can name him whatever you want," he grumbled.

"I like Mr. purple, it suits him." She snorted.

"Haha, Ally, go to sleep." He turned over onto his side.

She was silent for a few minutes, making him think she had actually listened to him. "Thank you, Owen." She whispered suddenly.

Owen didn't comment.

"Suzy wants to take me to school," Ally said once he joined her in the kitchen the next morning.

"That's too bad," he said without care, "I'm taking you." He headed towards the coffee maker.

"She said she wanted to talk to me. I have been avoiding her for days now and I am going to have to face her sooner or later." Owen didn't say anything, just continued to fix his coffee. "She hasn't told anyone yet, that's amazing considering its Suzy."

Owen did not want to talk about Suzy so early in the morning. "How in the hell did she find out anyway? I swear, she has bat ears."

Ally laughed a little, but covered it by drinking some more of her milk. "She said Matt told her," she said in a more somber tone, "I guess that's the friend your brother is staying with." She said softly.

Owen wiped the back of his hand down his face. He guessed so. He hadn't talked to his brother in days and he would be stupid to ask his mother. Ian was always her favorite. "Tell blondie she can take you home. I rather not be around the same time she is." He finished two cups of coffee before it was time to go.

"They're acting weird," Owen looked up from his cell phone to find Mallory standing next to him, one hand gripping her book bag tightly. He glanced around to see what she was talking about, gaze landing on Suzy and Ally, heads bent together obviously whispering something harshly back and forth. "They kicked me out of the huddle." The brown eyed girl joked.

"Well, you're acting pretty weird to," he leaned back against his locker, "considering you're talking to me. What happened to 'Owen, I'm never going to talk to you again?'" He questioned mostly wanting to pull her attention away from Suzy and Ally before she decided to investigate. He was honestly happy she was talking to him again.
