-For Ghoats2-
"(y/n), Commander Erwin has requested your presence in his office." Eld interrupted while she was cleaning out the dishes from dinner. "Don't worry about the kitchen, I have already informed captain Levi that the commander wants you to be relieved of those duties for now. You know how much he wants to see you."
She nodded "Thanks Eld." She knew exactly why Erwin has summoned her.
"Sure thing," he replied and walked away.
She took her horse and rode it into town where Erwin's office was located; her heart pounding harder as she got closer.
She sighed as she walked up to the door and knocked lightly.
"Come in," she heard from the other side of the door. She opened the door and saw him there, sitting on his desk and organizing the papers, finishing up his day's work.
"Oh, hello, (y/n). Sorry to have called you out here so late, but I would like to talk to you." he said with a small smile.
"No worries, commander." she replied.
"(y/n), I told you; you can call me Erwin. This isn't a business matter." he reminded her and gestured to the seat infront of his desk. "Sit."
She stiffly nodded in response. "Thank you."
He sighed. "(y/n) I know that you're probably getting sick of me asking you, but just give me a chance." he stopped piling the papers on his desk.
She remembered when he first advanced on her, it was when she was first placed into Levi's squad, and he congratulated her by sending her a bouqet of flowers. But she didn't know he was trying to hit on her since she thought he did that to everyone. He would occassionally visit the castle, but at times it wasn't for business.
'That's Commander Erwin for you. He'll do anything to get what he wants.' Petra gossipped when she asked her about Erwin's constant visits.
"(y/n)?" Erwin interrupted her thoughts.
She flinched, and pursed her lips.
"Look, (y/n) I have asked you many times, and I've taken you on ample dates. If you don't want to be in a relationship with me, just say so and I will not bother you anymore. It's just that you never really gave me a clear answer." he stated straightforwardly. It was true, she never said yes or no whenever he asked her to be his girlfriend, she would usually respond with "Please let me think about it," or "I'll get back to you on that."
He has taken her on many dates during the night when everyone has already winded down and didn't worry about the unexpected titan attacks.
There was one date that she would nor forget; and he most definitely wouldn't either. It was when they were going home on the night before an expedition- he took her to dinner and drove back into the castle with a carriage.
"Thank you," she said as he helped her step out of the carriage.
"You're welcome." He warmly smiled to her. Throughout her time in the Survey Corps, never has she seen him smile so genuinely towards anyone.
They stood infront of each other in silence. She didn't know what to say since she expected that he would just drop her off and leave.
"Thank you for the dinner, commander. I had a great time." she smiled at him, rocking back and forth on her heels.
"Thank you for coming." he replied, "And you can call me Erwin. We don't have to be professional." he added.
"Oh, okay." she stuttered, "well I guess, I will be off. Goodnight... Erwin." she started to walk off, feeling his eyes set on her as she walked towards the door.
"Wait," she felt his firm hand grab onto her arm and spun around. He looked straight into her eyes to which she internally melted into.
He was reluctant and looked down; refusing to say anything for a while. She just looked back at him knowing where thia was leading.
He pulled her in closer by the waist and carefully caressed her (now red) cheeks with his thumb. Her mind raced for responses but all she could do was nervously freeze.
He leaned in closer- her doing the same thing- closing the gap between them. His soft lips crashed onto hers, longing for her taste. She pulled him closer by his shirt, completely melting into his kiss.
But she wasn't ready. She couldn't do it. It was not the time to fall in love with so many other worries to think about first.
She pulled away, panting.
"Sorry... Erwin. I just- I can't really think right now. I'm sorry. Thank you for tonight again. Goodnight." She walked away as he watched her, disappointed by the outcome.
"Is everything alright, (y/n)?" he asked her. She was taken aback by his question. "You seem to be quite distracted today." he added.
"Sorry, I was just thinking about something." she looked out the window behind him.
"(y/n) I'm glad that you're very dedicated in your duties as a soldier, but there is no need to have your mind be occupied by them. It is-"
"No, it's... not that." she cut him off, "I was just thinking about all of the times that you asked me to be your girlfriend." He flinched at her response. She was reluctant, but its better now than never. It wasn't like she wasn't attracted to him, but she never really was ready to commit to something that was probably not going to be permanent considering all the unprecedented casualties she must deal with. But he has done so much just to earn her attention for so many months. There was no doubt that he loved her.
"Alright, (y/n). You don't have to tell me now. We can talk about this another time, you're probably tired from today." he said.
She got up from her seat and he followed suit, ready to see her off. She's had enough time to think about it, and truthfully, she was scared.
"Erwin," she stopped in her tracks and turned to him. He stopped right behind her. "I have decided. Sorry that I didn't really give you a clear answer. I just needed time, and... I'm afraid." he lowered his eyes. "But I can really see how much you're going to care for me and somehow... I feel less scared. So, I have decided that I want to be in this relationship with you." she reached for his hand.
He stood in silence for a while, fathoming what just happened. The many months of hard work to get her to like him has finally come to its conclusion.
"I-I'm glad (y/n)." He gave her a hug.
"Sorry that I made you wait for so long." she squeezed him, feeling safer in his warmth.
"It's okay, (y/n), you're worth the wait."
(A/N) ???? I didn't know how to end this uhh but here it is! I honestly couldn't sleep at night because I needed an ending for this but this is what I could pull out of my tiny inept brain.
Up next is going to be either Eren x Reader or Armin x Reader or Bertl x Reader. I guess it will depend on which one I can fit in a plot.
Thank you for reading!
