Alright! Here's a scenario!
You landed in Tilted and you land in Trump Tower/Big Bertha and you began looting the building. All of the sudden, you see some fighting going on in another building and want to approach the fight.
You either...
A: Approach by getting to the bottom floor of your building and running up to theirs.
OR
B: Build floors toward them
You can take either approach, one better than the other depending on the situation. But if you're taking route B, be very careful. Someone can easily knock down your floors with ease and you'll plummet to your death if you have no mobility item. Back to the lobby from once you came!
To combat this, you can place pyramids over your floors to give them more protection. It'll be much harder for people to shoot down your platform. This technique becomes more effective the more stacks of floors you place, especially with metal!
