*Braelyn's Castle*

"BRAELYN!"
"Yes Bernard?" Braelyn answered.
"Your parents have requested your presence in the dining room"
"Thanks Bernard"
Braelyn headed towards her parents, her light brown hair swinging in its ponytail. She dreaded hearing what they had to say. She hadn't done anything wrong, right?
"Braelyn, we have some news," her mother said.
"You will be attending Royal Academy as of next week," her father announced, putting an emphasis on will, making it obvious it wasn't a choice.
"Yes sir," she said, sighing heavily. She headed back to her room, deciding to pack, because she had to leave earlier the next day.

Braelyn's room was rather extravagant. The walls were about seventeen feet tall, with waterfalls coming down from the ceiling. There was beautiful artwork on the walls. Braelyn was grateful to have such a beautiful room, but none of it was really her style. She was excited to decorate her room at her new school. She was packing a bunch of comfortable clothes into a cute patterned duffle bag when she heard a knock at the door.

"Princess Braelyn, may I come in?" It was Bernard

"Princess Braelyn, may I come in?" It was Bernard. "Of course," she yelled back. Bernard entered the room looked as if he was holding back tears. "Do you need any assistance packing?" he asked her. "No," Braelyn said, looking down at her small duffle bag. "I'm going to miss you."  she said, turning to him. "Mckenzie and Stina will be there," he said, giving her a hopeful look. Braelyn groaned which made bernard chuckle. "All the care about is reputation and status. It'a rather annoying. You're the only person in this kingdom whom my parents let me talk to that I like." Bernard had always been more of a father figure to her than her real father. Her parents were always off on business trips or with their fancy friends, but Bernard was always there. He gave advice, helped her with school work, when her parents forgot her seventh birthday, Bernard remembered. "Thank you." he said to her; "thank you for being kind, for giving me many laughs and smiles, and most importantly, a friend." he said, giving her a smile. Now her eyes were watering too. She gave Bernard a hug, and headed out with her dog, Willow, knowing if she stayed any longer, she would cry.

Braelyn got in the carriage  and looked out to see if her parents were there. They hadn't even come to say goodbye. It was time to start their long journey. With Willow in her lap, Braelyn began to fall asleep.
