It was the next day and Jungkook couldn't figure out what to wear. All morning he came up with scenarios of how talking with Taehyung would go. He even promised himself to get rid of the fear and stuttering.
He knew deep down, whatever happened yesterday wasn't him, not even one bit. Jungkook wasn't one to become shy and have fear. He rarely ever felt fear. And the stuttering, yeah, something Jungkook never did.
The way the older man was mysterious made Jungkook lost. It made him feel like a new person, like he could say and do whatever he wanted. Which is why he bought a box of cigarettes to give to the prisoner as a 'gift'.
The prison only gave two to three days of visiting per week, which meant seeing Taehyung for a very small amount of time each week. Even though they barely met last night, it felt like forever for the visiting hours to come.
They were both so eager to see one another again.
"I knew I'd find you here, darling." Jungkook turned around and was met with the beauty from the day before. He had been standing in the same spot, where the small spot of grass wouldn't grow.
"I- uh..I brought you something," Jungkook looked around, making sure no guards where watching. "I wasn't sure if you liked to smoke."
Taehyung smiled, taking the box from the boy's hand. "I don't suppose you have a lighter with you?"
"I do." Jungkook replied with a smile. Jungkook handed him a red lighter in which Taehyung took quickly. He lit a cigarette up, taking small puffs of it every now and then.
"You want one?" Taehyung asked while moving the box into his direction.
"No I'll pass..." Jungkook replied a bit cautious.
"Come on. One isn't going to hurt you, darling." Taehyung said insistently.
Jungkook sighed in defeat as he took one out of the carton. He lit it and took in a deep breath. Coughing, Taehyung simply chuckled and took another puff. "You've never smoked, I see. So innocent, pretty boy."
Jungkook cutely pouted, dropping his hand down but not letting go of the cigarette. "Do you want to sit down?" Jungkook asked, ignoring the older's eyes on his lips as he had pouted.
Taehyung motioned Jungkook to follow him. They walked up to the blacktop where more people where at. There was no seats left but Jungkook noticed a group of men who turned around and saw Taehyung approaching. They all quickly got up and left, leaving the table all to themselves.
"Say, why did you end up coming back?" Taehyung questioned, blowing the smoke in the opposite direction of the younger. Many men were looking their way, which caught Taehyung's eye. They weren't looking at him but more to the boy in front of him. He was about to snarl at them but stopped as he looked back at Jungkook who questioned him on what he meant.
"You asked me to come back." Jungkook tilted his head in confusion. "And I promised."
"Sweetheart, promises are broken left, right, and straight all the time. No one ever keeps them nowadays." It was true. No one ever kept it, even if they say it a billion times. Promises were made to be broken, it was just plain reality.
"But that's not what I meant." Taehyung breathed in his cigarette. "I meant, why do you keep coming back to jail if you're not a prisoner here?"
Jungkook looked surprised at the question. How did Taehyung know he's been coming to jail every so often?
"But I am."
Taehyung rose a brow and gestured for Jungkook to explain. "I am a prisoner. Well not here exactly..My dad controls my world." Jungkook shrugged, taking a big whiff of the cigarette. "I never get to decide what I get to do and you(prisoners) can- well used to. You were free when you weren't here, am I right?" Jungkook asked.
Without answering, Taehyung stood up, never breaking eye contact with the younger boy. He sat down so his legs were on either side of the bench, facing Jungkook. "You are right." Taehyung spoke, sending shivers down Jungkook's spine.
Looking forward, Jungkook looked at the wall but then turned his head to look back at the inmate. "You became a leader of the biggest gang, you did many many bad things in which landed you in here. But I will never land in here. You know why? Because my dad would never let his little boy live his life."
They both didn't speak for a while. They were too busy lost in each other's eyes. One was looking at a universe behind the eyes, while the other saw a boy locked up who couldn't get his world back(not that he ever had it).
"When I was younger," Taehyung began. "my parents wouldn't let me out of the house alone. Day or night, I was told to have an adult by my side. I was eighteen when my heart was broken by a girl." Taehyung stopped, watching Jungkook's eyes drop down as if he were disappointed in hearing the word 'girl'.
"I broke my parents rules and went out alone. Since then I never followed a rule. Years later my parents grew tired of me and sent me away to find a new home. I lived in the streets for about two days when someone found me. He told me he was the leader of a gang and told me I could become apart of it, that is if I wanted to. I had nothing, so I joined. After some months of being with him, he told me he had a great feeling about me. Three years later he died and I became the new leader of Bangtan. My point is, sweetheart, my world was controlled by my parents too. But there I was, living the time of my life."
Jungkook felt compelled to the older. He threw his leg on the other side of the bench, facing Taehyung. "It all began with a broken heart by a girl?" Jungkook asked.
The older took a second before confirming it. "How did she break your heart, if you don't mind me asking?" Jungkook softly asked, thinking it was a sensitive topic.
"Let's just say it was because she was a she."
"So you're gay?" Jungkook asked, a feeling of hope shooting through him.
Taehyung kept his eyes on Jungkook as he grabbed both his and Jungkook's cigarette. He pressed down on them on the ashtray and placed his hands on the younger's waist. Jungkook closed his eyes seeing Taehyung lean in.
"I am, darling." Taehyung whispered, lightly moving his fingers back and forth on Jungkook's thighs. "I'm guessing you are too." Taehyung said, not even a question.
"Visiting time is over!" A guard called out, watching very carefully at how the visitors parted away from their friends, family members, lovers, ect...
"Come back tomorrow."
"Mmm." Jungkook tried humming but had his lip in between his teeth, trying to suppress any noise from coming out.
Taehyung scooted away from Jungkook, letting him walk away. He kept his eyes on the boy all the way until he turned around and waved a small goodbye to the older. Once he was out of sight, Taehyung growled and stood up, everyone looking at him.
"If I ever catch one of you staring at him again, I'll rip you all to shreds!"
"I'd like to see you try." One man said, standing up to walk near the older.
"You'll regret that, darling."
