Despite the chaos happening around, I could only hear the painful silence between Nigel and Ansel. He slowly closed his comrade's eyes and carried him to a safer place.
My chest tightened when I saw how Nigel was trying hard not to breakdown. Ansel's blood covered my hand and it was dripping from my dagger. Seeing his motionless body made me realize how cruel their lives had become.
Tumalikod ako at naglakad palayo para mabigyan ng personal space sina Nigel at Ansel. Every step was becoming heavier and guilt was rising through my throat. The next thing I knew, tears were already welling up in my eyes.
I killed him, and that was my unforgivable sin.
'You saved him.' Right after hearing Nigel's voice in my head, the tears I was trying to hold back fell silently down my cheeks. 'Thank you for saving him, Nel.'
It was hard to accept that he had to die so he could be saved.
Blacks started to gather around us and the frustrations I was feeling became my fuel to attack them. I lunged toward their direction and charged at them relentlessly. There was only one person I wanted to face—Dale. He was the root of all of these.
"DALE!" I exclaimed, all the rage inside me exploding.
I didn't care about these drittes and viertes. With my animus, I changed into Ansel and channeled the towering fury he felt while his body moved against his wishes for the last few years. He did everything they ordered like a puppet, without any respect to his will.
"You won't reach him!"
Napatigil naman ako nang makita ko si Aarif, one of the traitors and Team Rubeus specialist. I immediately attacked him with my dagger but he managed to avoid a critical hit.
He scowled and pointed his gun at me.
"Do you really want to die?"
I scoffed. "Can you even kill me? Don't get too ahead of yourself, Class A agent."
His expression darkened and I used that moment to lunge at him. I threw my dagger at his leg and it penetrated his skin. He yelled and kneeled in pain and before he could take my dagger out, I summersaulted and landed beside him.
"You—!"
"Shut it, traitor," I growled as I pointed Jett's gun on his temple.
I wanted to hurt him more. I was itching to kill him, but I felt a familiar presence behind me.
"What? Are you here to stop me?" tanong ko habang nakatingin pa rin kay Aarif. "Naia."
"Yes," she replied and a few seconds later, she was already standing beside me, her sword at Aarif's neck.
"He deserves to die!"
"Then let him experience something worse than dying."
Pagkasabi no'n ni Naia ay saglit akong napatingin sa kanya.
