What is up lovelies? It's been awhile, I'm aware. But Happy New Year to you all! Thought I'd let you all know I am in the process of writing another story titled 9th of November if you were interested and wanted to check it out, maybe give it some love. Anyway, here's the next chapter. Enjoy and thank you all so much for taking the time to read this, vote for it and comment as well. It really means a lot! <3
We all kind of just awkwardly stood there, we knew the bell had rung but just couldn't move. I could feel the awkward tension in the air between Joel and Ahren, I rolled my eyes and decided to be the one to bite the bullet. "Okay boys, what classes do you guys have? Because I am on a free period and could really use some company" I spoke.
"Oh, uhh I have a free period too." Joel spoke. Ahren went to dig through his bag, looking for his class timetable I was assuming. "Uhh, I have a free period by the looks of it too" Ahren said. "Great, so we're all together then and since we are why don't we all get to know each other?" I said.
I had no idea what I was doing to be honest with you, but Ahren was new and I knew he'd need friends to survive. I sat at the desk still and took it upon myself to play some Red Hot Chili Peppers quietly in the background, to prevent awkward silence from occurring. Ahren decided to grab a chair and pulled it up in front of me, but back to front of course. He had a big cheesy grin on his face and his bright eyes stared into my soul.
Joel was sitting quietly on the couch playing an acoustic guitar and I saw him roll his eyes from the corner of mine. I had no idea what the problem was between these two, they didn't even know each other but my lord this was already driving me insane!
"So, Joel whatcha playing over there?" I asked him. "Oh, uhh I don't really know to be honest with you. Kind of just mucking around and seeing what happens". Ahren's eyebrows lit up as he seemed to have begun to pay more attention. He got up out of his seat and walked over to the bass, I had a feeling I knew where this was going. I could see Joel's eyes following Ahren's every movement just watching him like a hawk.
"Play" Ahren demanded. "Excuse me?" Joel spat back at him. Ahren rolled his eyes and responded "Get over yourself mate, now seriously keep playing". Joel was in shock, adjusted his glasses and continued to play. It took Ahren roughly a minute or two to be able to see where Joel was going and began playing along. Both of them just bonding over incredible music that they're playing together, no words needed to be spoken but you could feel the energy shift in the air. It was incredible.
The boys looked at each other as they began to smile, Joel began giggling and Ahren joined in. "Holy shit you guys, what was that?!" I asked. "Magic" Ahren looked at me and responded. "You can sure say that again." I spoke back.
Ahren took it upon himself to get out of his seat and walk over to Joel. "Hey, my name is Ahren. I'm originally from Melbourne and as you know by now I am a bass player. I plan on getting a shit ton of tattoos and I would love nothing more than to start a band. I smoke, I also don't give a f**k about much at all".
What on earth was going on? This isn't normal. Right?
