Chapter 5: Reunion

Jack and his men quickly ran for cover as Greed and the other Dark Riders opened fire. "Jack I need you to cover me I'm going to try and flank them." Allison yelled. Jack fired his weapon at the Dark Riders protecting Greed. There was not much cover to use in the firefight but trees and bushes, which meant Jack had to move from tree to tree to avoid gunfire and still fight back. Allison quickly flanked to the right and opened fired and seemingly managed to hit Greed in the shoulder plate of his armor.

Suddenly just from the left side of the soldiers came riding two Neon Riders, Inferno and Karma, who opened fire on the Dark Riders forcing them, as well as Greed, to quickly mount their motorcycles and retreat. Karma and Inferno both came to a screeching halt. "These forests are forbidden grounds. You're trespassing." Karma stated. Jack motioned for his men to lower their weapons. "Why did you not contact us before running an operation in our jurisdiction?" Karma asked. "We needed to keep it quiet. We had reason to believe that he's collaborating with several unidentified persons of interest that originated from this planet. Making any contact might risk the operation becoming jeopardized." Jack explained.

Karma and Inferno looked at each other then turned back to Jack. "Come with us, you will tell us what you know when we get to the Capitol building. This is sensitive information." Karma stated. Inferno put away his pistol and proceeded to contact someone through comms. "We're clear on the ground, we have friendlies, pick us up Predator." Inferno said, speaking into his comm unit.

Moments later a massive four winged aircraft emerged from cloaking and into view before landing in front of Jack and his men. It appeared as though the aircraft had been there the whole time surveilling the area as Karma and Inferno responded to the scene. Everybody got on board the aircraft. As the aircraft took off Jack could not shake off the feeling that Greed has something planned for them. According to Intel gathered Greed had been moving about suspiciously. Could he be amassing an army to invade Earth or was there something much more complex about the situation?

When they arrived at the Capitol Building they were greeted by Luna and Kate. Kate had donned her gray metallic armor only this time she was not wearing the helmet. Jack rushed out to embrace Kate. Kate welcomed him with open arms. "I missed you." Kate said to Jack. Jack nodded saying "I missed you too." Karma, Inferno, Allison, and the other soldiers emerged from out of the hovercraft. "Luna, it's good to see you, although I wish it were under better circumstances." Allison told Luna. "Likewise, let's discuss this imminent threat you decided to track all the way to Starlight, inside." Luna said as they all made their way inside the Capitol Building.

      Once inside, they were led through a long and wide corridor that led up to the Strategic Warfare and Threat Prevention Command Center. This large Command Center was established in order to identify any anomalies that may be suspected of being a threat to the planet. Inside the large room was Nightstorm who awaited everyone in his blue armor. "What exactly are we dealing with here?" He asked. Everyone quickly gathered around a large glass table as Kate began typing on a holographic keyboard. A projected image of Greed appeared. Nightstorm crossed his arms in concern. Last he remembered Greed was imprisoned on Earth in the most secure prison ever. Last he remembered Greed had not even made attempts to escape said prison. If he is loose, this could only mean someone broke him out of prison, but who?
