They didn't look back at the sound of that piercing voice. Sage, Gama, and Anshe broke out into a sprint. Neither Sage nor Gama remembered when Anshe took off their handcuffs, but they were quite glad to get their old arm mobility back.
Anshe led the way, and it took them nary a minute to arrive and enter the cruiser. It started quickly, much more quickly than Sage's old hunker of a cruiser. But even then, it didn't start fast enough for Sage's liking.
"Hurry, Anshe, we don't have all day! Also, whose cruiser is this? It's much newer than mine, is it the 3001?"
"I'm going as fast as I can, and we are all explaining ourselves later!"
Anshe was off. The opening for the ship deck was starting to close as the Galaxy for the Planets went on lockdown. Sage knew they could make it if Anshe didn't hesitate, but she didn't know if Anshe knew this.
It appears as though he did, as the doors missed them by a hair. They were off, into the deep blue. Sage forgot how it felt to fly through the skies. She looked at the stars she thought she had said to goodbyes to, and the planets she regret never seeing. She couldn't get enough.
Gama closed her eyes. Unlike Sage, it was a little overbearing to see everything little she missed all at once. It was a lot to take in at once. She remembered they were likely being chased by many G. A. ships and turned around to look out the back window. There was two small fighter ships behind them, and an even smaller tracker ship.
"Anshe, this is sorta a given, but there's three ships behind us. One of them is a tracker. Those things can go light speed if needed."
"Yeah, I guessed they would do that. I tinkered around with this ship, so when we fly I can turn on invisibility for a few minutes at a time."
"That's cool as hell! Can you do that on my ship or...?" said Sage. She never realized how much she missed Anshe before this. Of course she missed him in the cell, but it was just starting to register.
"Already did!"
The fighter ships sent a few blasts toward the ship. This made Anshe push the invisibility button. He stopped right there and let the G.A. ships fly ahead of them. Like Anshe said, the invisibility wore off after a few minutes, but this gave their followers a large head start. Anshe turned the ship to the left and head to the moon farthest away from the Planet for the Galaxies.
He parked the ship on the barren moon, and with the press of a button the ship went invisible again.
"When the ship is parked, it will stay invisible for as long as we need it to. Much like your cruiser right now, Sage. Let's see, I think I parked it by, oh yes! That crater right there."
Anshe walked over and felt around in the air, until he found what he was looking for. He knocked his fist on what seemed like the air, but it made a loud knocking noise. Then he pulled out the keys to Sage's ship and unlocked the door.
The three were met by a loud voice saying, "Did you get them? Sage, are you there?"
Sage was immediately suspicious. Who was this voice coming from inside her ship? Did Anshe know him?
"Who is that?" asked Sage. She lowered her voice so only Anshe and Gama could hear her.
Anshe walked inside without a word. He took off the guard costume to reveal some of his clothes he got at the mall- shorts and a greek-esque toga.
They followed him to see a Vettian tied down to a chair. He wore some of Sage's clothes, and it wasn't a terrible look. Anshe greeted him as casual as he could be, which was a little strange. He was tied to a chair, for goodness sake!
"Wow, Anshe, didn't know you were into that...," said Sage. Anshe ignored her comment as he untied the mysterious Vettian.
"Sage, this is Mr. Eu. I kidnapped him! Then we became friends and he helped me get you out. Let's try and get him home before talking, he's been gone for a while," said Anshe. "Also, Mr. Eu, I've been thinking- let's say I tortured you, then you're off the hook. We can beat you up a little so it's more convincing, I don't know..."
"Yeah, I'll come up with something. I work at the G.A., I know how things work. Let me introduce myself, I'm Mr. Eu. I work as a guard at the G.A., and I have 3 offspring. I was kidnapped, as Anshe said, and he bored me to death with his lectures about how the prison system is extremely flawed."
"Well, thank you Mister! I'm Sage, Sage Manter! You've probably heard of me!" said Sage. She noticed how Gama was still pretty quiet. She worried about her, but she was just adjusting, right?
"Yeah, thank, I'm Gama Reigh, the 'thief'," said Gama, breaking her silence. It was then that Anshe started up Sage's ship and started flying to Vett. It wasn't far from the Planet for the Galaxies, so the ride was short. He left the invisibility on as much as he could, but maintaining it while flying was hard on the engines.
Mr. Eu changed back into his guard outfit that Anshe had slipped off when they first walked in. He sat down with Sage and Gama-who were sitting very close to each other- and chit chatted about the mildest things. It was strange for the people you feared the most to be average people.
"....then I realized how much fuel prices have risen. Why should I pay for that, I know damn well the G.A. steals it from the sources. They really don't care about the people as much now, you know?" Gama was talking alot. She had shit to say. And her leg was mere inches away from Sage's. What's more, Sage's arm came up on the back of the couch behind her. Gama liked it, and she kept thinking of the kiss, in the cell, and how it felt right and how Sage was looking at her and.....
"Yeah, I wish I could do more about the fuel thing, but I'm just a guard. We don't have too much say in things."
"Hey, guys, we are here. Mr. Eu, we're just going to drop you off. Can't risk being caught! I'm gonna miss you, please don't die before we can meet again. And we will meet again. Or else," said Anshe. He was getting a little- no a lot- choked up.
"Gonna miss you too, kid. Stay outta trouble. This goes for you too, Sage and Gama. I'll- I'll seeya."
"Thanks Mr. Eu! I will!"
"Yeah, Thank you. Now go see your offspring!"
Mr. Eu stepped out in front of his house, and he hardly stepped out of the ship before it flew away. He walked inside to screams and cries from his family.
Back inside the ship, Anshe flew it to a planet that was far away from Vett, from Ionts, and from Planet for the Galaxies. It was the planet of Bancott, and it was here they landed. The ship became invisible, and Anshe walked into the living area. He sat across from Sage and Gama, who were oh so close to each other.
"Now, who wants to go first?"
