He falls head first into a pit of smoldering hot lava, and with the shock, jolts upward, and gasps for air as his head meets the surface. A man stared back at him as he opened his eyes, wading in the lava. "Hm. You aren't dead. Good." The man said, holding out his hand, allowing Karma to take it and pull himself out of the pit and shake himself off. He looks around, noting the 200 or so other Reapers in the vast cave in the mountain that Karma now realized was a Volcano. Or at least he thought so, but that would be impossible. Only Flame Reapers would be able to clear the smoke and ash with their flame, and only Flame Reapers would be able to survive a fall into a pit of lava. He turns and looks at the pit again, but to his surprise, it was now a pit of water, with ice coating the sides. He jumps back from the edge as another Reaper splashes down into it, and pops his head out like Karma had done, and is pulled up by the man like he had, with the same exact phrase repeating to him. "Hm. You aren't dead. Good." He analyzed the boy who decided he'd rather push himself up out of the pool, rather than taking the help of the man. He had full, jet black hair like Karma, and a tattoo of a bird, probably a sort of phoenix, running from above his eye just below his eyebrow, over it, and to about where his nose ended. It was only about as thick as his eye itself, and brought out the cold, bitter dark blue of his eye. Especially as it stared directly at Karma. He blinks, and steps to the side, as the boy shoves past him. Probably an Ice Reaper. Karma thought, as he continued to watch him. A roar of thunder sounded, and he turned back to the pool, which was now a pit of dark gray clouds, with lightning flashing between them. A girl this time fell into it. He watched as she pulled herself out of the pool herself, same as the boy before her. He felt a bit stupid then that he hadn't pulled himself up too. He watched again as the man repeated his line. "Hm. You aren't dead. Good." The girl smiled and chuckled a little at this, running her fingers through her hair and waving a little at Karma as she walked past him to another, older girl, who was presumably her sister. "Creep." Karma blinks, confused, turning to see the boy glaring at him. "Huh?" The boy scoffs. "Seriously? Do you not realize you've just been staring at everyone coming in this whole time?" Before he got a chance to respond to this, he was ushered away from the now rapidly growing crowd of Reapers by a hooded Reaper, to a room to the side. "Is your binding on correctly?" The hooded female said. "Yeah, it is. Why wouldn't it be?" He rolled his eyes. The woman looked angry now, rummaging around in a bag. He was tired of people asking him about it. Karma wore a necklace, or, "binding" as the adults called it, of a silver cross around his neck. Apparently it was supposed to protect him from something. What it was supposed to be protecting him from, nobody told him. He had tried to take it off plenty of times, thinking it was stupid for him to have to wear it, but every time he did he always just ended up surrounded by a bunch of people freaking out and making sure it was secure and that I hadn't managed to actually get it off. He was also sick of other Demons asking about it and questioning why he wore it, since it was a cross and everything. Truth was, he had no idea. So, he just made up an explanation that seemed true enough. 'I got cursed by an Angel when I was a baby' he would always tell them. It sounded cool, so he figured it would only help him to tell them that. The hooded female spoke again, snapping him out of his thought. "Remember not to take it off, Ever!" "I know." He immediately retaliated. The woman then huffed and grabbed it, going behind him and checking the hatch, before pushing him back into the open room, which was already empty, and then down a hallway to a hall of doors. "This is where you'll be staying for now, Prince Karma." Karma nods and analyzes the door. It was a dark brown, looking pretty standard, though it was still slightly different from the rest, mainly because it was the last one in the hall, looking outwards back down the hallway, unlike the rest that were looking towards the door opposite it on the other wall. It also had slight gold detailing along the indents of it. He groans. "Why does it have to be all fancy? Everyone's gunna think I'm just a snobby show-off." The woman looked baffled. "You're royalty! You deserve better than the rest of these nobodies. Here, you'll be needing this." She handed him a golden key. He shakes his head and mutters under his breath as he inserts the key into the lock and opens the door, to the place he'd be living for the next 5 years of his life.
