"I thought you were kidding." I told her as I leaned upside down on the fluffy panda beanbag chair.

"Why would I kid about such a thing?" Ariel asked as she clicked search.

"Because the internet will just give us some sci-fi movie results or maybe some anime thing." I complained.

"Nuh uh, that girl on Twilight used the internet to figure out her boyfriend is a vampire." Ariel told me.

"Yeah, that would be a good method for a movie character, you know, in the movies, hint, hint, cough..."

"Hey! That's not true." Ariel told me.

"Really?" I asked her, feeling my eyebrows raise.

"Yeah. It worked in the book too."

"Uuuhg!" I groaned.

"Well, it's not too bad of an idea. You got any other way?" Ariel asked. Well.... Ted seemed to know what he was talking about-no, he would just use this info to try to convince me to leave.

"What's showing up?" I asked.

"Umm.... The Fantastic Four. Did you previously go to space and experience some radiation thing that causes mutations?" Ariel asked me.

"Oh totally, right after my double date with Hercules and the Cinderella/Prince Charming couple." I told her.

"Don't go with Hercules, Aladdin's more of a romantic." Ariel told me.

"Okay, instead of focusing on my secret dating life with the Disney dudes, why don't we continue to figure out what's up with my little mojo tricks?"

"On it. But it's not as easy as it looks. The superspeed, super strength and super fast healing and creating magic light shields is pretty tough to go on." Ariel complained.

"Try looking up a draw?" I informed her.

"Drawing classes, how to draw-"

"Look up..... Oh! Stone children." I informed her.

"Uh.... Bible verses about stoning a child! Uhg! You don't stone kids, I don't care what God or Jesus says." Ariel muttered.

"I don't know!" I groaned while slapping my palms to my temples.

"There's got to be a better way." Ariel sighed, pushing herself away from the computer in her rolling chair. As I moved my hand away from my head, I stared at my marked wrist, twisting it so it would gleam in the light, then stroking its hard, smooth surface.

"Try looking up, amethyst." I whispered. Squinting in confusion, Ariel rolled herself back over to the computer, brushing her blonde bangs away from her eyes and typing my name into the search bar.

"Pretty." Ariel said as she stared at the image results. I stood next to her and glanced through the search results.

"Click that one." I instructed.

"Myths?"

"Yeah." Ariel obeyed and scrolled down past the pictures.

"It's a protections stone." Ariel told me. "But I don't see what's so protecting about it. It's just a rock, it's no more protective than any other rock, or an umbrella. Or a gummy bear." Ariel told me.

"I think it means protection in a magical sense." I told her.

"Okay, but how is that relevant to-oh!" Ariel gasped.

"What?" I asked her.

"Stand here!" Ariel chirped, sounding excited.

"Um... okay." I obeyed, watching as her long, blonde pony tail disappeared into the hallway. I waited for a few minutes, wondering on whether or not I should call to her, whistle or twiddle my thumbs. Seconds later, I heard the sound of her light, tapping footsteps racing up the stairs and back into the room. Ariel re-entered the room with an excited look in her wide, green eyes. In her hands, she carried a small black shape that I couldn't really distinguish.
