Chapter 2

When i walk into the cafeteria i immediately spot my friends. I hesitate for a second wondering if they would notice if i sat somewhere else. Knowing i was being stupid i take a deep breath and walk to the table.. I notice there are only six people there, meaning we are missing two. Thankfully Tyson is one of the people which wasn't there and i just hoped he didn't show up later. I also noticed the other person missing was Daniel and i wondered why he wasn't here already like he usually was.

Smiling, i neared the table and barely had time to take a seat when i was bombarded with questions. 

"Why did you leave yesterday?"

"What happened yesterday, are you ok?"

"Where were you this morning?"

"Why didn't you answer the phone yesterday?"

"why didn't you reply to my texts?"

Those were the questions i caught, but I'm sure there were others which i hadn't heard because they were all trying to talk over each other.

I sigh and hold my hand up, "Guys, sorry i left so suddenly and sorry about this morning and not answering the phone yesterday...but please if you want to ask at least do it one question at a time." I smile proudly as they calm down and look at me apologetically.

"Sorry El, but we were just worried." She smiles, then asks, "So can you fill us in?" 

I roll my eyes and proceed to tell her and the rest of my friends about everything. About how i saw Tyson with a girl and how i spent all day thinking yesterday and also about the choice id made after realizing that there were next to no decent guys here in this town. The choice being that i wasn't interested in going out with from around here since they all seemed to end up hurting you. 

They all looked a little shocked at the news of what Tyson did. I knew they didn't know what they should do. I mean it was probably hard for them to be put in this position.Especially the guys. They were really protective over me, almost in a brotherly way, but i knew they were also good friends with Tyson. I also doubted anyone had expected Tyson to do this to me.

I smiled when i finished trying to make things seem fine, "Don't worry, i don't expect any of you to act differently towards him. He is still a friend to you all and i understand that."

My eyes roamed over everyone and they all looked both shocked and angry, but i was surprised when they came into contact with a pair of really angry ones. I realized they belonged to my best friend Sindy. If looks could kill then Tyson better be careful around her.

"Next time i see him, he is going to end up hurt." i laugh thinking she is joking. I realize she isn't when i see her clenched feet and her eye ticking. The eye ticking only happens when she is seriously mad.

I look at her warily, "Sindy seriously...calm down. I wasn't really hurt by it. Anyway i should have known something like this would happen. It usually does around here." i smiled and hugged her, silently thanking her for her protective attitude. Even though i don't need it as i was used to depending on myself, it was nice that she was worrying so much about me.

"You might not be hurt about it but no one does this to my best friend without getting a piece of me." i rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Well then Tyson better watch out." With that said i start eating my lunch as she rambles about how she is going to make him regret what he did.

"Maybe i can bitch slap him in front of the whole school...or maybe i can damage his car, or maybe i should--" Her rambling is cut off when we hear a slight cough from behind me. I stop stuffing my face with food but don't turn to look. 

"Hey, i'd like you to meet someone." i hear Daniel's voice adressing the whole group, behind me. I see Sindy, Courtney and Rose looking behind me with wide eyes. I roll my eyes as i recognize that look. It means someone they find incredibly good looking is probably standing behind me. And i doubt they are looking like that at Daniel since they are used to seeing him...

Not really thinking it through i turn around to see who it is. Forgetting my mouth is full, burger sauce dripping down the side of my mouth. When i see who it is my mouth almost falls open and i have to hold back a surprised gasp, noticing it's the same guy i stared at in class today. I look up and realize he is looking down at me, an amused smirk on his lips and his eyes crinkling with amusement. That's when i realize that i still have burger sauce and ketchup all over my chin. I blush and turn away from him for the second time that day.

Just as i do this i hear Daniel say "Guys, this is my cousin Jason. Jason these are the friends i was telling you about"

Jason...So that's his name. I have this horrible feeling I'll be seeing a lot of him now.
