Indie hit the fire alarm button sounding an ear splittingly loud alarm. Henry hurried to turn it off as a voice came over the speakers.
"Maintenance."
Indie spoke up," hi, uh, We're stuck in the elevator. Do you think you guys could let us out? were kind of on a time limit."
The voice came back over the speakers," is anyone hurt?"
Henry answers,"Shes hit her head it's not bleeding. but it's just the two of us and I don't know if she's hurt."
"We'll get to work on it as soon as we can."
"Thank you.", Indie backed up from the speaker.
Indie backed up sitting against the wall of the elevator. She slid down mumbling to herself.
"We're gonna be stuck in here forever!", she groaned.
Henry felt his heart speed up at the thought of that. His palms got sweaty and his breath hitched up.
Indie noticed his anxious presence,"Henry? are you okay?"
"Y-y-yeah, I'm f-fine....", he lied.
Indie stood back up,"hey, in sure they'll get us out as soon as they can. don't worry about it! Hey, it could be worse, the elevator could be tiny, one of us could be like dying, the elevator could be crowded....it could be worse."
Henry nodded,"Yeah, thanks Indie."
Indie went and sat back down with her back to the back wall.
Henry stood awkwardly debating to himself if he should sit with her.
"Henry?" She moved her hand through her dark hair," are you sure it's not bleeding? it really hurts."
He moves next to her sliding closer to her. He tried to love his hands over her but her arms got in the way.
"D-do you mind if I...." he stuttered nervously.
"Oh! Crap sorry." Indie moved her hands out of her hair.
Henry put his hands where hers were feeling around. He finger felt over a growing bump. Indie winced causing Henry to move his hand off.
"Shit! I'm sorry." he took his hands out, he looked at his finger tips seeing then with out any blood on them," there's a bump but you aren't bleeding."
Indie leaned back onto the wall of the elevator," thank you."
"No problem." Henry moved and sat with his back along the right corner of the elevator.
After a few moments if silence Henry looked at his watch,"It's 11:11. make a wish."
Indie looks over laughing,"you believe in those?"
"You don't?"he turned to face her.
"Well it's kind of a elementary school thing."
"Aren't adults just elementary school kids who are forced to provide for themselves?", he raised his eyebrows.
"Deep." Indie laughed lightly.
As her laugh faded out there was a longer silence.
Indie turned back to see Henry, he had his eyes closed, jaw clenched, and his hands were tangled together in his lap.
"So what's your story?" indie asked finally.
Henry cocked an eyebrow,"What do you mean? story of how I got to the elevator or..."
"You can start there.", Indie shrugged.
"Not much to tell really, I woke up..."
"Why'd you wake up?" Indie interrupted.
"The phone rang...",
"And who was it?", she inquired.
"My friend scott..." Henry answered anticipating another question.
"Who is scott, what's he like, where'd you meet him?", Indie turned so her whole body faced him along the left wall.
"Why are you asking me all this?", Henry almost laughed at the way she nearly interviewed him.
Indie shrugged," Who knows how long we'll be in here?"
"Scott and I met when we were ten. His sister was best friend with mine. We always had his family over for like parties and stuff. Eventually we just became best friends too. And here we are 10 years later. Still calls me three times a week.",he chuckles lightly to himself.
Indie smiles," What's he like?"
"Tall, blonde, funny, gay."He shrugged.
"Your best friend is gay?",Indie questioned.
"Yeah.....is that a problem?"
"No! no. you just don't seem like a GBF sort of guy.",
"Hm, what kind of guy do I seem like?"
"Well, you seem like the kinda guy that my mom would have told me to stay away from in highschool. Tattoos, you smell like smoke a cologne, probably a weird ethnicity, and I've never seen you take a girl into your apartment." indie laughed.
Henry blushes slightly.
"I'm right aren't i?"
"Not about everything. I've had girls over before. and I'm Arminian, that's no that weird."
Indie laughs,"Maybe not."
Henry feels himself look and state at indie for a moment. This was the girl he had woken up for this morning, and at least once a week. And now here he was just feet away from her. His mind went back to the dream he had this morning. Ravishing her neck and shoulders in between his dark colored sheets. Her hands roaming all over his back. He wanted nothing more than to make his dream come too with her. Maybe this would be his chance.
