"Say hi to the stars for me, okay?"

I climbed up the roof, and sat on our rough shingles. I talked for a while with my brother on the phone. After a bit I hung up, the clock struck midnight, I heard my cue. I jumped off the roof, making sure to land on the beanbag I kept outside. I made my way towards the sidewalk. I kept on my path, the one I'd followed for years, marked with sketches, practically vandalism. I stayed clear of the occasional person, something I've learned benefits me, over a long period. The only time I go towards people is because it's a gas station, and I need to use the bathroom. After the couple miles of marked concrete, I turned left where the marks ended.

I started towards the tree I always go to, and when I got there, they had already arrived. I sat down with them. I started remembering what we always did, called each other by our first initials. I was J, there was also A, H, M, and when she hung out with us, we'd call her AD, so we didn't have two A's. I was talking about it with them, while A and H cuddled, of course. AD wasn't there, but she never came towards us, she was always at the tree on the other side, and always with her mom. I was the only one to go to AD, but it didn't matter at the time. When we did this, A and H held flowers, and cards they gave each other, and M held flowers and cards from her family. I never could tell what AD held, as it changed every week.

I was rambling as the others listened silently. I always enjoyed these talks, though I did most of the talking. After some time the subject changed from the old days to what will happen in the future. I told them I'd make sure my descendants remembered them. I always fantasized about starting a family, I just haven't found the right person. At least I have my therapist brother, my docter brother, my author sister, my artist sister, and my counselor sister, as well as my retired mom and dad. I finished up my ramble, and lied silently on the grass. I looked up at the stars, and said hi.

I got my stuff and waved good bye to my friends. I knew they'd never leave me, after all, they can't. I left, before the sun rose, so I didn't have to see those stupid stones.

Here lies A,H, and M. 200X-2019
