Bedtime

Goodnight,

Sleep tight,

Mommy knows what's best tonight.

When doors are closed

And lights are off,

Children do things,

That make their Mothers scoff.

When Momma and Papa

Give kisses goodnight;

More things lurk than fear and fright.

Thoughts pop up,

In little girl's heads.

That will soon be replaced

With miles of dread.

When Mommy says no,

She isn't being mean.

Mommy's foresight

Is very sharp and keen.

So when Bedtime comes 'round,

Listen to Mommy Dearest,

And put your head down.

If you listen to Mommy,

And fall asleep,

The monsters in your closet

Will not make a peep...
