Goodnight,
Sleep tight,
Mommy knows what's best tonight.
When doors are closed
And lights are off,
Children do things,
That make their Mothers scoff.
When Momma and Papa
Give kisses goodnight;
More things lurk than fear and fright.
Thoughts pop up,
In little girl's heads.
That will soon be replaced
With miles of dread.
When Mommy says no,
She isn't being mean.
Mommy's foresight
Is very sharp and keen.
So when Bedtime comes 'round,
Listen to Mommy Dearest,
And put your head down.
If you listen to Mommy,
And fall asleep,
The monsters in your closet
Will not make a peep...
