I had the perfect life, all A’s, great friends, all star quarterback for three years, and anything a girl could ask for. I was currently looking back on all these things as the grey Range Rover slammed into my car. I was looking back on all the things I had accomplished in my life, and if I was to survive what was to come, I saw myself on stage giving my valedictorian speech, my parents beaming with joy. Then, going off to college with my lovely boyfriend Cole. I sat in silence as the impact crushed my body and threw me around like a rag doll. Then it felt as though I was flying.

So this is what death feels like, it feels like your just floating without a care in the world.

*SLAM* I felt my face collide with the concrete, I just laid there feeling numb wishing all of this could be over with. I saw a tall brooding figure walk towards me as I laid there motionless. I barely hear my name being said as I welcomed in the darkness around me, ready to drift away into a sweet slumber.

                “Beep, beep, beep.”

Good God what is that sound, don’t people know I need my beauty sleep! I tried to open my eyes, but they wouldn’t budge. “Come on you eyes open.” I thought to myself. I breathed in deeply, as my success of opening my eyes was sadly defeated. I finally just used all my might to get my eyes open, and I was succumbed to a bright white room. Wait… this isn’t my room, and why does it smell like antiseptic. I was sitting in a maroon chair next to an oddly familiar boy.

“Cole? What are you doing here?”

He was sobbing lowly and was holding a girls hand in the chair next to him. I was about to get up and slap the living snot out of him. Was he honestly going to hold hands in front of me, his girlfriend, with another girl? I don’t think so!

I carefully got up to teach this player a lesson, when I looked over to the bed in front of the chairs. There was machines attached to this person, and she had a red burn looking thing going down her face. The girl looked so familiar, but I couldn’t place who she was. I looked a little closer and realized the beaten and battered girl was me, Rachael Winters.
