Anna was looking out the window of the airplane wondering how she got there, how her life changed in such a short time.
Shawn got to Toronto the day before, he and Anna agreed he wouldn't come inside the airport, but wait for her outside.
Anna said she would get a cab, but Shawn insisted that he would pick her up.
She didn't get much sleep at the flight.
She was brushing her teeth and putting make up on before landing, her heart was racing thinking how close she was to seeing him again.
As soon as she turned her cell phone back on, there was a text from Shawn.
"I am waiting for you at the curbside, gate B.
Can't wait to see you x"
She almost couldn't feel her legs walking towards the baggage claim.
"Just got my bag, I will be there in one minute x"
He was supposed to stay inside the car so no one could see him, but as soon as he saw her walking out the door, he opened the car door.
Her heart skipped a beat when she saw him standing by the car.
He was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and had a head band holding his hair back.
- You are here! - Shawn smiled like he didn't believe it.
The last time they saw each other in person was in Italy and she had a boyfriend, so they didn't know how to behave now.
He gave her a kiss on a cheek and hugged her.
She was afraid he noticed her heart was beating that fast. How could he when his heart was racing too?
- Happy Birthday! - She whispered
They looked at each other and smiled.
He got her bag and put on the trunk.
- Let's go, you must be tired and hungry. - He got her by the hand and opened the car door for her.
- Such a gentleman!
- Don't look so surprised! - He laughed - Also, don't get used to it.
There was already a coffee for her inside.
- Oh My God, thank you!! - She grabbed the cup from the holder.
He was driving, she wanted to look at the city, but her head seemed to always turn to look at him.
He was so chatty, talking about how there was already people in his house cleaning, and decorating.
He stopped at a red traffic light and looked at her, she was looking at him.
- What? - He asked.
- Nothing - She smiled - I am just glad I am here.
He smiled back at her. She blushed a little, and looked at the street trying to hide her shyness at that moment.
She looked down as she felt his hand touching hers, and looked at him while he drove holding her hand. She thought her heart was going to explode.
They got to his building, he was carrying her luggage in silence, she was walking behind him, he stopped at the door.
- So, my mom is here - He could see Anna panicking - She is helping with the party.
Anna didn't say anything, but her eyes were wide open looking at him.
