Why couldn't he say it?

Anna was happy and sad at the same time.

She couldn't believe on the last couple of days, but it was really hard not knowing when she was going to see him again.

It's like they didn't have the chance to see the relationship grow.

She was so tired that she slept thru the whole flight, which she thought it was good, because it didn't leave her much time to think, and cry because she didn't want to be away from him.

When she got home her sister was waiting for her, she wanted to hear everything, and Anna gladly told her, smiling thru the conversation remembering every second, every touch. She texted him to let him know she was safe.

A "I'm home."

S "I'm in the US."

A "And you are 21 now! That means you can legally drink there."

S "That didn't stop me before... but you are right."

A ":)"

S "I already miss you"

A "I miss you too"

For the next two months they talked over the phone. Shawn was traveling so much.

They tried to set up a trip for Anna to meet him, but it was never the right time, for him, or for her.

Anna felt like she was watching his life online. All the shows, all the bars and events he went.

In the mean time Pedro started calling, and showing up at her house, after they saw each other, and talked, at a friend's birthday party.

- You have to stop coming here - Said Anna entering the kitchen.

He had been there two other times, when she was thankfully not home.

- Anna! Don't talk like that! - Anna's mom was surprised how Anna reacted, she was usually so sweet - Pedro is welcome here anytime.

- Not without calling. - Anna felt really uncomfortable with that situation.

- I am sorry, you are right. - Pedro walked to Anna - I just wanna talk, and you haven't been answering my calls anymore.

- Because you call me 3 times a day. - Anna didn't want to treat him like that but she didn't understand why he was like that now, when he seemed so fine when she ended the relationship months ago - You wanna talk? Talk.

- Not here - He side looked at her mom standing there - One dinner, is all I ask.

- Not dinner - Anna felt like dinner sounded like a date - We can meet for lunch.

- Okay then - Pedro smiled - We can go to that Japanese place you love.

- Yeah, ok, whatever. I will let you know the day.

Anna took Pedro to the door, and he kissed her in the cheek before he left.

- You are going to regret treating him like this. - Anna's mom said shaking her head - That boy doesn't care about you. He lives in a different world that you are not part of.

Anna thought about Shawn, it was almost the end of his United States leg of the tour, after that he would go to Asia and Australia, which would make everything harder. It hurt her to think that her mom could be right.

Two days after that Anna's phone rang, it was Shawn.
