Sonic's P.O.V.
Shadow and I stood in-front of the sunset on top of Sun Peak Hill's. I pointed towards it with a small smile on my face.
" See the sunset, Shads." He nodded slightly smiling. " Shadow.. why are you?.." He blinked facing me. " What?" He asked.
I watched as his quills sparkled, twinkling in bursts of colors. It made me confused. " Your changing to the sunset's colors.." I murmured.
He looked at himself and shrugged his shoulders. " No, I'm fine." He said as he grabbed my hands holding them in his.
We stared into each others eyes for a moment and I felt a bit calmer. Maybe I was just imagining things, right?...
" But Shadow.."
I pulled my hands away, a worried expression making its way to my face. I placed my gloved hand to my cheek as I watched his annoyed expression display.
For some strange reason I felt as if I could barely see Shadow. His quills were kind of... fading..
He looked straight into my eyes and I cocked my head to the side. " Believe me, I'm fine." He murmured.
I nodded hesitantly as I gave up on my theory. " So can I hug you then?" His quills were no longer visible and I could only see his eyes.
" Sure. " He said barely audible. Suddenly.. he was gone.
My expression went straight to panicked. I searched around turning to see if he was playing with me, or if this was some king of cruel joke.
" Shadow?!" I asked, my tone sad and panicked. My eyes filled with tears as I started to let it sink in that he had disappeared.
I turned once again, my eyes loosing their sparkle, and my hope fading. " Shadow?.." Tears started streaming down my face and I fully turned my body around.
" Shadow!" I shouted pacing my hands up in a stance that was used often when people shouted. " Please come out! "
I begged. I fell to my knees in disappointment and sadness, my hope fully lost. " I need you, please come out.."
Streams of tears flowed down my cheeks as I clasped my hands together. " Shadow..." I looked up only to see the back side of someone's quills.
I felt a small spark of hope run through me as I stared at the figure. I stood up reaching my hand out as some of the tears stopped.
" Shadow?" I felt my tail start to wag and I rushed over to the figure. " Shadow! " My hand was still stretched out as I ran towards him.
I was correct it was Shadow. He twisted his body as his arms crossed over his chest fluff and he stared back at me coldly.
I went up to him happy that I had found him. He turned his body fully to face me, his arms still over his soft chest fur.
His glare cold as ice. While I was now crying tears of joy. My tail wagged as I began to speak. " Finally, I found you Shadow."
He cocked his head slightly to the side and in an ice cold tone he asked. " Who. Are. You." My heart completely shattered.
I pointed to myself tears peaking out of my eyes. " It's me! Sonic! don't you remember?" Shadow turned back around a frown etching on his lips.
" No, I don't.. now go away." I reached my hand out grabbing one of his arms. " Wait! Shadow! " I started to once again loose hope.
Fresh and warm tears streamed down my cheeks and my eyes stung with tears." I know you can remember me!, Sonic the hedgehog!"
An annoyed expression displayed on his muzzle. " Get. Out. Of. My. Way.!" I clenched my fists together sadly.
" Don't fool around with me Shadow!" Shadow let out a huff of annoyance and reached into his quills digging in there and pulling out a gun.
" This. Is. Your. Last. Chance." He said through clenched teeth. He aimed the gun straight at me and I felt myself wanting to give up.
He placed it on my chest in the location of my heart. I gripped the top of the gun. " SHADOW ITS ME!"
BANG!
Shadow pulled the trigger and I fell to the ground, one hand on my chest and one on the floor as blood poured from me.
" Shadow.." I began to fade feeling my soul drifting from me and myself going unconscious. My last words were..;
" Shadow, I am happy that I got to see you once more.."
That is before I disappeared.
