This was the by far most voted for option for my 2019 Valentine's Day special 🥰. (And I really have to thank everyone who has voted for it, because I've very much enjoyed writing this bonus chapter!)

I am already posting this today, because:

- I finished writing it a few days ago already and couldn't wait any longer 😂.

- I am doing another one shot (movieverse Jaya) for next Thursday.

- I think everybody is quite anxious about tomorrow's episode, so we can all use some comfort Jaya.

- The second Lego Movie will be released tomorrow (at least here in Ireland), and you will find some references to it in this chapter.

[Just in case it's not clear in the chapter, the students' residence where Nya lives in is very nice. Dorm units (with a kitchenette and bathroom) are shared by two people, but they each have their individual tiny bedrooms (and yes, these do exist, I had a bf who had this kind of dorm room).]

Week 43 – Valentine's Day

Thursday morning

A gentle knock on the apartment door stirs me from my dream.

Did I mess up the day? I wonder, half asleep. But a quick glance at my phone confirms that today is indeed Thursday, and therefore I neither have swim training this morning nor a 'date' to go running with my boyfriend before our classes start – I still have no idea how in Ninjago he's managed to convince me of that.

And this also means that I still have some time before I need to get up. I turn around and snuggle back into my pillow. But just as I'm about to close my tired eyes, there's another knock, and this time it's on my bedroom door.

"N-Nya?" My roommate's voice asks rather hesitantly – she knows I'm not a morning person and don't like to be disturbed in my sleep. "Are you awake?"

With a sigh, I turn onto my back. "I'm coming." I mumble, getting up.

When I open the door, my friend hands me a cardboard carry tray with two cups in it. "This was in front of our door, with your name on it."

"Thanks." I smile when I recognise my blue travel mug sitting in it next to a paper cup. I got it as a present from Jay when I started my new job at the campus bookstore, and he always brings me a coffee in it when I have to work. Did he just drop this off here?

And the little note that comes with it confirms my suspicion.

Happy Valentine's Day Nya. I thought you might appreciate this more than flowers 😊. Looking forward to tonight. Love, Jay.

PS: The caramel macchiato is for Gayle, I assume she was the one who got up to open the door 😉.

He knows me too well...

"This one's for you." I hand my roommate the paper cup.

When I started college here at the NIT last autumn, I was surprised to find that I'm sharing a dorm unit with an old classmate of mine.

And while Gayle and I weren't particularly close back at school, we've become quite good friends but over the past few months. And, just like most people here, she now calls me Nya.

"Awww, that's sooo sweet." She squeals. "You're such a lucky girl, Nya. I wish someone would do something like this for me..."

I roll my eyes. Gayle can be a bit overdramatic sometimes. But the journalism major is probably Jay and I's biggest fan [after the author, obviously], ever since he's arranged a private interview for her with his dad and even gave her some personal photos for her article – which not only made her the first ever first year to get on the board of the NIT students magazine but also got her the attention of a senior film student.
