ESME'S POV
MONDAY 30th OCTOBER 2017
I woke up the next morning feeling groggy and tired but was relieved when I realised we were on break for Halloween and so I didn't have to go to school. With achey muscles, I reached over to grab my phone from my bedside table and then unlock it. I had two new messages.
Tom: morning sunshine
Tom: date today? I have something good planned
I smiled gently at my phone. I didn't like Tom in that way yet but maybe after a date I would see him in a new light?
Me: can't get enough of me can you? would love to go out w/ you. what time?
I waited a few minutes until my phone vibrated again.
Tom: how about we make it 7pm? dress casual :)
Me: perfect. see u then x
I looked at the time on my phone and saw it was already 11 o'clock in the morning as I had slept in and so I decided to just grab my laptop from the floor next to my bed and place it on my bed next to me. I turned on Netflix and laid back in bed so I could have a chilled day watching The Vampire Diaries and maybe doing some homework later in the day.
Most of my day went pretty fast and after spending the day watching crappy tv shows and writing essays, I was finally getting dressed into some skinny jeans and a cropped sweater. I was told to dress casual and so I only put on some light make up and left my hair in it's natural waves.
"What are you doing tonight?" Spencer asked me from my door.
"I'm going out with this guy I met yesterday. That girl Naomi that stayed over last night? Her older brother," I told him as I spread some clear lipgloss over my lips.
"You only met him yesterday?" Spencer raised his eyebrows in concern.
"He's not a serial killer, Spence. He's actually a really nice guy," I told him and picked up my bag just as the doorbell rung through the house.
"Well if he's so nice let me meet him," he smirked at me and before I could stop him he sprinted down the stairs to open the front door and greet Tom. I was only moments behind him and tried to shove him out of the way but he didn't even budge an inch.
"Hi... Is Esme there?" Tom asked politely and I popped my head over Spencer's shoulder, smiling.
"I'm here!"
"So you're this elusive Tom fella, hey?" Spencer looked him up and down disapprovingly and I rolled my eyes at him.
"You must be Spencer, Esme's brother," Tom politely held his hand out to give my brother a handshake but Spencer just ignored the kind gesture.
