Why Are You here?

A/N: It's that time again, here is the next chapter and hopefully Fergal will get some answers. Why has Pam come back? And why now? But the big question is, why did she walk out on Fergal and Abby? Well you know the drill read on and find out, happy reading.....

"Hello Fergal" Pam said before she stood up with Abby in her arms as she looked at Fergal.......

Fergal couldn't believe Pam was standing right there in the backyard of their home holding their daughter. So many things were going on in Fergal's head so many questions it suddenly got too overwhelming for him that he started to feel dizzy as he again stumbled, Mercedes and Rebecca were right there next to him each grabbing his arms as he just couldn't stand anymore before his eyes rolled at the back of his head and he crumbled to the floor everything turning black.

"Oh my god, Fergal!" Mercedes screamed as Fergal passed out.

"Fergal, Fergal...." Rebecca said tapping his face but Fergal wasn't moving "we need to get him inside, now" she said again as Mercedes and other guests helped pick up Fergal carrying him inside.

After laying him on the couch, Rebecca asked for water and Leonie came rushing over wth a bottle of water as they both started splashing water on Fergal's face and Leonie was trying to get her son to drink some water as Pam came over with Abby. Rebecca and Leonie backed away when Fergal was coming to as Abby rushed forward to her daddy. Slowly Fergal was coming to and when he opened his eyes he was relieved that he saw his little girl next to him but when he looked up at the person next to Abby he gasped again as he backed up on the couch.

"Fergie-" Pam started saying but Fergal quickly sat up pushing away from her.

"Get the fuck away from me!" Fergal yelled at her as he tried to get up from the couch before Mercedes rushed forward to try and calm him down.

"Fergal it's okay, look at me Fergal look at me you need to calm down okay" Mercedes said cupping his face making him look at her to get him to calm down. Pam was watching Mercedes and Fergal interact wondering what was going on between them, had Fergal moved on with Mercedes?.

"Fergie-" Pam tried again, coming close to Fergal as she reached out to him.

"You have some nerve showing up after 3 years" Fergal said pulling his arm away from Pam's grasp before he stood up from the couch.

"You walked out on me, on our daughter. Damn it Pam, she was only 4 months old and you upped and left with nothing but a note and no explanation. How could you do that to me, to her!" Fergal spat starting to get upset and with every reason.

"Can we not talk about it in front of everyone" Pam replied looking at everyone in the room looking at them.

"Ugh, now you care Pam do you?" Fergal spat again, furious now but swallowing his anger not wanting to make a scene in front of Abby who was watching her parents having no idea why her daddy was upset with her mummy.

"Okay everyone, why don't we give Fergal and Pam some privacy and head on outside" Rebecca said before the guests slowly walked out of the living room and outside leaving Pam, Fergal, Mercedes, Rebecca and Leonie.

"Come on sweetheart why don't we go and see what other cakes there are?" Rebecca said to Abby now placing her arm around her shoulders as Abby nodded and went with Rebecca.

"Are you okay hunny?" Leonie asked Fergal standing in front of him now rubbing her hand on his arm.

"Yeah, I'm okay mum. Why don't you go outside and make sure Becks isn't giving Abby too many cakes" Fergal replied calming down a little now.

Leonie smiled at her son nodding before giving his arm a quick squeeze as she walked out leaving Fergal with Pam and Mercedes alone in the room. Mercedes looked at Pam then Fergal before she walked up to Fergal pulling him into a tight hug as Pam watched upset at seeing her best friend and the man she still loved in an embrace.

"You sure you're okay Fergal? If you don't want to do this, its okay" Mercedes said pulling back to look at Fergal to make sure he was okay.

"I'm good Mercedes and I'll be fine. Thank you" Fergal replied smiling down at Mercedes, Pam continued watching them getting really uncomfortable.

"Okay, If your fine I'll leave you to it" Mercedes said smiling back at Fergal before she too walked out. Leaving Fergal and Pam alone.

"I'm listening...." was all Fergal said as he walked to the fireplace with his back to Pam waiting for her explanation.

"Fergie....... I'm so sorry!" Pam said tears now falling down her face as she walked up to him reaching out a hand touching him on the shoulder.

"You're sorry, that's it YOU'RE SORRY!" Fergal yelled as he shrug her off.

"Fergal I didn't leave because of you or Abby, I left because I felt like everything was moving to fast for me and I needed to get away to think to find myself again, to find what I want in life" Pam said pouring her heart out to Fergal, telling him how she felt.

"And it took three years for you to find out what you want in life. What is it you want in life Pam?" Fergal spat really trying not to get angry and he was very angry at Pam.

"I want my family, that's why I came back. I want to be in my daughters life, in your life Fergie" Pam replied stand right behind him watching him to see what he'll do and say.

Fergal started laughing in anger, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Wow...." was all Fergal said as he ran his hand through his hair before he turned to her and he looked her in the eyes and he was fighting the tears that were in his eyes then without warning he cupped Pam's face roughly making her gasp but she didn't break eye contact with him.

"Fergie.... please understand....." Pam softly sobbed as she looked into his blue eyes trying to find some sort of understanding in them but they were cold and she could see the hurt in them.

"The day you left my heart turned to stone and that's how it will stay, do you understand? If I could I wouldn't have you near Abby but I can't rob her of her mother just because I don't want anything to do with you I won't punish my little girl. I'll allow you to be in our daughter's life but that's where I draw the line, I don't want you in my life but I'll sacrifice anything for my little girl if it makes her happy. So let me be clear there is no us, we aren't a family but you can be in Abby's life that's it, are we clear?" Fergal said looking at her dead in the eyes before releasing her face taking one more look at her then he turned around and walked out of the room.

"Fergal! Please........" Pam wailed standing there in tears before she sobbed out loud crumbling to the floor, her face in her hands as she cried realising that not only has she lost Fergal but her hope that they could be a family once more.

A/N: Teehee another chapter done, I'm rolling lol! Anyway as you read Fergal is very upset with Pam and with good reason but at least he's reasoned enough to allow Pam access to their daughter, so she should be thankful he let her have that but will he ever forgive her?
