The next day Fergal was preparing everything for the party, he couldn't believe his little girl was going to be 3 today. As promised Mercedes had come over and was helping Fergal set up for the party while Abby was up in her room playing. Fergal was planning a small party just his parents, siblings and friends. At that moment Abby came running outside to show her daddy the picture she drew, Fergal looked at her and she looked like Pam with his blue eyes and when Abby smiled she had Pam's big smile. Sometimes it hurt seeing Pam in his daughter after Pam walked out on them but Fergal learnt to except it with time and it didn't bother him much now.

"Daddy, daddy, look at the picture I drew!" Abby shouted in excitement as she showed Fergal.

"Wow sweetheart, who's in the picture?" Fergal asked looking at it.

"It's you, me and mummy" Abby said, Fergal froze but recovered so Abby wouldn't see his reaction.

Fergal had told Abby about Pam after Abby asked why she didn't have her mummy one day after coming home from the park where she had seen other little girls with their mummies. Fergal knew that day would come when Abby asked about Pam, Fergal had sworn to tell Abby the truth when she was old enough to understand but when she came to him at 2 years old and asked where her mummy was Fergal caved and told Abby that her mummy had to go away for a while and that it was just them and when Abby asked if mummy was coming back Fergal had said 'I don't know sweetheart, maybe one day' and it killed Fergal to say that to his little girl.

"I see, its a lovely picture sweetheart. Why don't you go to your room and get ready for the party okay" Fergal said smiling at Abby but inside he was hurting.

"Okay daddy, can you put my picture up on the fridge daddy? Please...." Abby begged holding the picture out for Fergal.

"Of course I will, go play" Fergal said as Abby gave him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek before running off into the house happily.

Fergal sighed as he looked at the picture again before going inside and putting it up on the fridge next to Abby's other pictures she had drawn. Today was gong to be a long emotional day for Fergal but he was going to get through it for his little girl, Abby was worth it and a lot more to Fergal and he would it for her.

It was time for the party and every one was in the backyard, tables were all set with paper plates, cups and even plastic cutlery. Fergal wanted to make it easy for him to clean up at the end of the night. Abby was playing with her little friends on the play equipment and Fergal was smiling at his little girl watching her laughing and running around with the other kids.

"The party is going well Fergal and the food is delicious" Mercedes said walking up to Fergal before following his eyes seeing he was looking at Abby. "She's happy Fergal and you've been a wonderful father" Mercedes continued as she looked at Abby playing.

"Yeah she is happy and that is all I want for my little girl, I want her to be happy and feel loved" replied Fergal smiling softly as he continued to watch Abby playing.

"And she is Fergal, she is" Mercedes said patting Fergal on the shoulder before walking away leaving Fergal to watch his daughter.

Soon it was time for the cake and Fergal had gone into the kitchen to get the cake ready. Pulling it out of the fridge, Fergal placed it on the kitchen island before putting 3 candles in checking it one more time before he took it outside and placed it on the table. Fergal called everyone over to cut the cake before he realised he forgot a lighter so he rushed back inside to grab one but before he could walk out his mum Leonie followed him into the kitchen. Leonie was worried for her son seeing him take on being a full on parent on his own was tough but she's so proud of her boy juggling his wrestling career and being a good father to Abby. She still remembers the day Pam had walked out on him and their daughter and she saw how it killed him but he put on a brave face and just carried on for the sake of his daughter he would just carry on.
