Kara POV:

Winn could not have walked in at a better time than this one. Just moments after Alex and Eliza left, he knocked on the door ready to pick up Dylan; Mon-El and I wanted to paint both of the two new rooms and purchase as many essentials as we needed by the end of the day.

"Kara, you ready to leave yet?" Mon-El asked, impatient as usual.

"Fine. WHATEVER. Let's just go."

I was stressed about the entire process and didn't realize how long this would take and how much money we would need to spend until after the kids left. I think it took Mon-El off guard too.

"Okay. I know it's stressful, but we have to be optimistic," Mon-El said calmly and conservatively, "After all, we just adopted two amazing children a few days ago!"

How does he always know exactly what I'm thinking? Magic? Or true love? One of those two.

"Preach to the choir, baby!" Winn shouted as he pointed his finger high in the air. To be quite honest, I forgot he was there.

We quickly ran to the car after handing Dylan off to Winn and started to drive to the store we were at previously. He grabbed my hand at the beginning of the 20-minute drive and didn't let go until he had to parallel park on the street.

As we climbed out of the car, I said "Okay, so I will be on room duty, and you do everything else. You have the list, right?"

"Oh, uh.. yeah! Of course I have the list!" Mon-El said suspiciously.

"Okaayyyy... whatever. You do you, man," I stated with a sly smile on my face and smirky look in my eyes. Oh yeah, he forgot the list, but it's okay because he thinks I don't know that he forgot the one thing he was tasked with bringing.

Mon-El POV:

Oh. My. Rao. I forgot the list! Thank GOD Kara doesn't know. Geez, that was a close one.

The amount of children things I need that AREN'T even on this are ridiculous. Kara was right, this is soooo stressful!

Kara POV:

You don't really take "Shop 'till you drop" literally until you actually fall over from exhaustion after flying home without your boyfriend an painting every wall in two rooms twice. Damn, that's difficult work!

Other than that, I am fully LOVING these walls. Mon-El isn't back yet, but it's all okay because I have everything in the apartment clean and tidy, not that it will be that way tomorrow. The walls even shined like freshly-fallen snow on a snow day, and it was quite beautiful.

As if on cue, Mon-El walked in and dropped the grocery bags he was carrying on the ground. Exhausted as well, he looks at me with horror as he says, "That isn't even half of it." I couldn't help but burst out laughing at his adorably tired face!

"It's not funny!" he said defensively and while looking at the ground.

"You're the one that said be optimistic!"

His defeated face this time just made me laugh harder until I left the apartment to go grab the rest of the bags and put the items in their places and Mon-El drove to pick up Addy.

Mon-El POV:

As I arrived late at Alex's, I saw a sleeping Addison curled up in her Grandmother's lap. It was peaceful. Serene. Beautiful.

I whisper, "Thank you guys so much. She's gonna love her new room!"

As Alex responded with "No problem! Anytime," Addy started to stir. I think she's waking up.

Only for a moment does she open her eyes, but only between rubs and reaching her arms out for me. I carry her bridal style out the door and strap her in the backseat, where she continues to sleep soundly until we make it home. I continue to hold her tightly until I reach her new room, painted a beautiful lavender color with Tinker Bell themed decorations. Kara is truly an amazing mom.

"Is this my room?" Addy asks quietly.

"Yes, sweetie," I whisper followed by a soft kiss on the top of her tiny head.

"I love it. You're my hero, Daddy."

"No, no, no - Mommy did all of this for you." I responded to set the record straight. I did the boring stuff. Kara earned this one.

"Then tell her I said that." She was fighting hard to stay awake.

"Okay, I will. I promise."

I lay her little body down on the freshly cleaned bedsheets and tucked her in tight under the comforter. My baby. My daughter is lying there. I hope I turn out as an okay dad.

I walked out of Addy's bedroom and shut the door quietly because everyone else was asleep. Winn came over shortly before I did with Dylan asleep, so we really should have been more stealthy before. Either way, I was able to end the day next to my beautiful girlfriend and wake up next to her in the mornings. Watching her sleep is like heaven - she's just so perfect. And then something came upon me. I need to marry this woman.
