Chapter 1~ Early Risers

Young man, there's no need to feel down.

I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.

There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.

I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.

You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find

Many ways to have a good time.

I groaned, and turned over, as the ringtone blared from my phone. I'm not sure why Emily had insisted that everyone needed the YMCA tune on their phone. When I say insisted I mean that she attacked me when she found out I didn't have it. Needless to say it is now my ringtone.

"Em" I grumbled answering the call, the overwhelming urge to sleep almost taking over. How dare she disturb my sleep. It was so peaceful with dreams of chocolate fountains, gummy roads and-

"NATE ASKED ME TO BE HIS GIRLFRIEND!!!!" I was snapped out of my reverie by my best friends squealing "He took me out on this date, and oh my god, it was so cute and sweet. And he got me chocolate and flowers. When he asked me to be his girlfriend I said maybe, but what if he doesn't actually like me? What if he's playing around? What if-"

"Shut up Em. There is no way that he would ever not like you; you are you after all" I explained to my rambling best friend "And with that out of the way, was there anything else you wanted because if not then I'm going to sleep."

She paused for a moment, trying to think of the other reasoning for her calling "Not that I can think of...there's actually a party tonight are you're coming. Bye!" She squealed, before abruptly hanging up. I groaned a no even though she'd already hung up. I turned over and saw that the time was only 4:13 in the morning. More sleep is all I need. I sighed and fell into a comforting slumber.

"WAKE UP VIOLET!!" A scream escaped my mouth as my mum yelled at me, only millimetres away from my face. What is it with these people and personal space? "10 MINUTES UNTIL SCHOOL STARTS!!"

"Ah shit" I said as my mum left the room. I quickly slipped on a pair of skinny jeans, a Beatles t-shirt along with a pair of aviators, brushing my teeth on my way out of the house. My hair was left in a messy bun as I jumped out of the house and into my car. I'm pretty sure that on the ride to school I broke several laws, one of which included several speeding but I urgently needed to get to school to see my sexy baby boyfriend.

As I parked my car I noticed Dan waiting by my usual spot. I felt bad for leaving him here waiting, but then again he wasn't up at all hours listening to someone ramble about their new boyfriend.

"Took you long enough." He grinned that beautiful grin of his. He quickly swept his hair to the side, and gave me a quick peck on the mouth as a greeting. I grinned back, slightly dazed.

I'm not even sure as to how I even got him as my boyfriend, considering he look like a freaking angel and I resemble a troll. He looks adorable with his jet black hair slicked upwards, and his adorable dimples which are always there when he smiles. And his slightly upturned nose, which looked adorable from any angle. And don't even get me started on his personality. You know that sweet, caring, funny boyfriend that you always wanted, I've got him. His is perfect in every way and I can't imagine a boyfriend or relationship an better than ours. It's almost too good to be true.

He tugged at our now interlocked hands, signalling that we should get into the school. The second we entered the bell rang for roll call* so with that Dan walked me to roll call, gave me a kiss on the cheek and quickly stalked off to his room. I silently sat down, still quite content about how this morning turned out. It was funny how one word from Dan or even just his presence could make me happy. He had that effect on people.

I grinned, stupidly at this until I heard some snickers from beside me. I turned and scowled before rolling my eyes at the boys behaviour. It was Alec Wilson, an his two best friends, Jack Pagan and Clark Turner, the renowned bad boys of our school. Just your typical bad boys I guess. Getting into fights, smoking occasionally, constant one night stands and getting completely hammered at parties every other night. They each had their own part in the group. Alec; the leader, Clark; the mysterious one, and Jack; our schools famous player.

"Dreaming about me, Vi?" Alec teased, grinning that ugly grin of his. What, am I kidding myself?! He has got to be the most attractive guy at our school, just after Daniel of course. I mean, how could he not be attractive with his lovely chocolate brown hair, always perfectly styled, his green eyes, which always shone bright with mischief, and his absolutely flawless skin. Add that to mouthwatering abs, pronounced jawline and- oh god, what am I doing?? I have a boyfriend after all. I was just comparing him to Daniel, because I was trying to see how much more attractive Dan was than Alec, yeah that's what I was doing, yeah.

"So you are dreaming about me" Alec mused. That snapped me out of my thinking.

"Keep dreaming Alec. And why would I want to dream about you when my oh so sexy boyfriend, is to die for." I smirked at him, happy with my comeback.

"Oh you mean Dan, that douche is your boyfriend?"

"Oh you son of a-!!" I started before I was cut short by the bell signalling first period. He winked and waved at me before he walked smoothly out of the classroom with his friends in tow, leaving me standing there with a frown on my face.

I slowly stalked my way over to my next class which happened to be math. Great. Another wonderful lesson. The day passed by quickly and by the time the bell rang for end of school, I was jumping with joy. Not literally. That would've caused a scene and I wouldn't have been able to bear the embarrassment. I quickly rushed out of my last period class, over to Dans car, playing Temple Run on my phone, awaiting his arrival.

"Oi sausage! What're you doing, leaning against my car?" I looked up from my game and grinned at Dan who was striding over to the car. When he got close enough he pulled me into a hug and have me a sweet kiss on the cheek. "Did you hear about Shane's party tonight?"

"Yeah" I sighed "How could I not, I mean Em kind of screamed it into my face this morning. I wasn't planning on going, but if you're going I might be persuaded."

"Okie. Well just say to you're mum that my parents invited you over for dinner and Stacey wants you to sleep over, okay?" Stacey, Dans older sister had always had a soft spot for me, and after one family dinner when she asked my mum if I could stay the night she automatically let me stay there all the time. She also doesn't let me go to parties which is also my reason for lying. Strange mother.

"Okay, thanks Dan. I'll get a ride with Emily if you don't mind, because we have to get ready and...yeah" I mumbled off to myself. He grinned and slipped a quick kiss onto my mouth before jumping into his car and waving me goodbye.

I quickly tucked my hands into my pockets and walked more slowly than physically possible to my car "OI! Roberts!" I turned to see Alec calling my surname. I let out a quick groan. I mean my day went perfect after he annoyed me in the morning and now he has to ruin it again.

"What?!" I yelled back, across the car park.

"See you at the party" and with that he winked, pulled the screen on his motor bike helmet down, and sped away. Damn...so annoying. I shook my head, then notice that I was the only one in the car park. Before long I was out of the school and at my house.
