Chapter Seventeen

Two Years Later: Prom Night

You were talking nervously to Kaminari, your best friend who had been with you for three years. He brought you to prom with him (as he wanted to have a wing-lass to help him get with Shinsou) and he didn't want you to go alone. But he had a plan.

He was going to hook you up with Tsuyu Asui, the Rainy Season hero and your crush since first year. A simple, brief kiss was all it took—then she and Tokoyami hooked up and she left you behind. Lucky for you though, as they broke up two months previously.

You, Shinsou, and Kaminari were hanging out near the back of the gym, by the punch table. You wore a silver dress with glittering sequins that complimented your matured body. Admittedly, you were stunningly gorgeous, the multicolored lights reflecting off of your dress and skin. Kaminari had two goals tonight: to possibly hit it off by Shinsou and to get your crush to kiss you.

Kaminari kept (annoyingly) encouraging you to walk up to Tsuyu before the dance, looking lonesome as she stood awkwardly in the corner. Shinsou was trying to pry him away from you, perhaps jealously, but he was low-key praying that Tsuyu (who had grown taller than you) would have the guts make the first move. If she didn't, he'd mind control her to do so. He knew he shouldn't, but he'd step it up for a friend.

"Hey, Denki, get off her." Hitoshi growled. You glanced at Tsuyu from across the room, who you made eye contact with. A few embarrassed moments later, you checked on your troublemaking friends, whose faces were three inches away from making out.

In a blink, Shinsou had Kaminari pinned against the wall, and they were already sharing spit. You laughed and gagged at the same time, as you anticipated this and it was inevitable at the same time.

You suddenly found yourself walking towards the other side, just before the final dance was about to begin. Your eyes were interlocked with Tsu's, and she wouldn't take her eyes off you.

"Hey," you said nervously. "Do you want to dance with me? The song is just about to start."

Tsu stared at you. "Of course I would."

And you danced the night away.

"I love you."

"I love you too."
