Red Fountain - 15th September 2005
The schoolyard is bustling with students yet the difference in numbers compared to last year is evident.
"I guess it was wishful thinking that everything would be back to normal," Brandon comments with a humourless chuckle as he and Sky pass through the front gates with their bags and stop in the courtyard.
"It's only been a few months since the war," Sky responds. "We're all still suffering but soon we'll learn to live with what's happened."
"Aww, that's so heartfelt I think I'm gonna cry," Riven taunts as he throws an arm around both their shoulders, bonking their heads together.
Despite the pain, both are ecstatic at his arrival as Sky shakes his hand, and shoulder bumps him before patting him on the back. "Riven! How's it been?"
"Good, I stayed over at Timmy's; his parents are awesome. Anyway are poetry classes now a part of your royal schedule?"
"Shut up, man." Sky shoves Riven in good fun.
"Where is Timmy?" Brandon couldn't see him anywhere in the vicinity.
"Doing some nerd thing in his room," Riven informs. "He's been working on some kind of program with Tecna."
"Well, Sky and I were gonna go out for a ride on our dragons. Wanna come?"
"Sure."
"Cool, we should invite Timmy as well." The trio heads back to the dorm and wrangle Timmy out of his room despite him wanting to continue working on the program eventually he gives up and lets them drag him to the stables.
"-so now I'm stuck with this guy," Timmy huffs as the group saunter to the stables. Essentially, what happened was that Timmy's parents walked in on a phone call Timmy was having with Riven, the latter's dad needing to leave on an extended business but not wanting to leave his son all alone so guess who volunteered to have said son stay over?
"You loved me," Riven retorts with a grin.
"That would be true if you didn't keep stealing my yoghurt," Timmy grumbles shoving him away before walking slightly ahead of the group.
"Hey, is that who I think it is?" Brandon points to a male with long black hair and a green shirt and before the others can react, Brandon sprints and reaches out to scare Helia except the latter quickly dodges and trips the brunet who lands flat on his face.
"You really need to learn how to tie your shoelaces, I can teach you if you find it too hard," Helia teases before holding out his hand and helping him up.
"You should know that you can't get one on Helia." Sky shakes his head before greeting Helia, the others do the same as they are ecstatic to see their old-time friend. "I don't know why you still try."
"One day I'll win," Brandon grumbles with a pout.
"In your dreams maybe." Riven dodges the punch from Brandon and proceeds to avoid the successive blows that follow after.
Timmy sighs at their juvenile behaviour before focusing back on Helia, "I thought you were enrolled in art school."
"I was, but after the Trix, my uncle's been having a hard time with all the backlash. I decided to return and support my uncle."
"If you get any trouble then you can come to us, we're always happy to help out a friend."
"Thank you, Bran-ah Sky," Helia corrects.
"Yeah, sorry for lying to you." Brandon apologises while in the midst of strangling Riven who didn't seem to mind the attempt at his life.
Helia waves them off with a small smile, "I figured you had your reasons. But I got to say it makes a lot of sense, I mean you weren't as eloquent or handsome as all the other princes at Red Fountain, you were kinda like a fish out of water."
