Chapter 16:

My knee impatiently bounces up and down as I listen to my teacher. She doesn't really say much but instead talks about Kennedy and how great of a student she was. I call bullshit, Kennedy was a bitch to practically anyone who wasn't a friend of hers, and even then I would watch my back. She was a snake, I really don't know how Chad put up with it. "Alaina, You still with us?"my teachers voice interrupts. "Yeah I'm still here."I say sweetly, her eyes carefully watching me.

This high pitch sound comes through the PA speakers making this ringing echo in my ears. "Attention Students, classes will be canceled for the rest of today and until further notice. The towns police will be instating a town wide curfew of 9pm." I tune out the rest of what he tells us as I sling my bag over my shoulder and begin to walk out of the room. "And remember your principle loves you." I roll my eyes as I begin to make my way out the door, running into Sidney and Tatum. "Hey Alaina."Sid greets, Tatum just remains silent.

I mean I really don't blame her, how would you feel if you found out your boyfriend was cheating on you. Then again I don't really have room to talk. "Hey guys."I say as I walk down the stone steps with the two at my side. "How are you doing Tatum?" "Shitty." My eyes jump to Sid who just remains silent. "I can't wait to see them at the party tonight, I'm going to make sure I look so much hotter than that slut."she snaps, her eyes staring daggers ahead. "Party?"I question, pretending not to know about the party Stu was planning tonight. I have to say there are perks to sleeping with a murderer.

         "Yeah Stu is throwing this party tonight, You should come." "And when you do make sure to compliment me in front of Stu."Tatum interjects. My eyes begin to fight the urge to roll at her statement. "Sounds fun."I say with a smirk. "Great, so you'll be there?" "Yeah I'll be there." "Awesome you guys can get ready at my place."Tatum smiles. "Actually I was just going to head home and try to get some sleep before hand maybe hit the gym before hand." "Lame!"complains Tatum. This time I let my eyes roll all they wanted. "Okay well we will see you there then." 

         With a simple nod I walk off but instead I end up colliding with someone. "Oh shit sorry."I say as I help them collect their things. Small amounts of pain spreads through my stomach as I crutch down. Out of the corner of my eye I notice MJ and Stu walking over to Tatum and Sid. Lord this can not be good. "Hey Alaina." My head whips up in the direction of my name. Randy stands tall above me, a huge goofy smile on his face. "Hey Randy."my voice oozing sweetness as I try to cover up my announce. "Hey, how's it going? I mean how are you feeling?" "I'm feeling better, the wounds are mostly just scars now."I tell him as I try not to double over in pain. Normally it wouldn't be that bad but considering his entire arm felt as if it went into my stomach. 

          "Are you sure alright, you seem to be struggling a little." "Maybe that's because you hit her in her stomach. Just because she's healing doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt."Billy snaps, his hand gently pressing against my back. "O-oh I'm sorry Alaina, I had no idea."he exclaims as he reaches out and grabs my arms. I can see Billy's jaw clench out of the corner of my eye. "It's okay Randy, really, you didn't mean it." He gives me this apologetic smile, Billy on the hand seems unamused. 

         "Look Billy I'll catch up with you in a few okay?" Granted I don't want to be apart of this conversation right now but I know with him hovering around me it doesn't make this look good, especially with Sid not to far from sight. "Yeah, I'll see you in a few."he says as he peers at something. My eyes follow his gaze towards MJ's black jeep. A scoff slips through my lips, "Anyway are doing anything tonight?"Randy asks the moment Billy leaves. "Umm yeah actually." "Oh well I was thinking maybe since we don't have school for while maybe we could hang out, just the two of us?" 

           "Oh well you see.....actually I got to go."I tell him in a rushed tone. Immediately I walk towards her car just as she speeds off. "Everything okay?"I ask Billy as we walk over to the tree. "Nothing just going over some stuff for tonight." "She's in on this now?!"I snap. "What do you want me to do Alaina? I need her there." "Why?"I ask, my arms crossing over my chest. "Because I can't stand the thought of you getting hurt." His face is a mere inches from mine, "If you get hurt doing this then I don't know what I will do. I care so much about you Alaina its insane." 

        My back is now firmly pressed against the rough bark of the tree. Words seem to be caught in the back of my throat so instead I smash his lips to mine. "What was that for?"he smiles. "For caring."I whisper. We don't say anything for a moment, my body remains pressed against the tree, his body resting against mine while his hands cup my face. "Come on, let's go get ready for tonight."with that I grab his hand and begin walking down the street.
