Chapter 1

Tracie

"Come on mama you gone make me miss my plane!!" I yelled ready to get to the airport.

"Girl if you don't stop all that damn yellin yo ass gone be staying here!" My mama said.

"Man mama I'm gro"...I didn't even get to finish my sentence before my mama almost broke her neck turnin to look at me.

"Nah go head and finish what you gone say." She said stoping what she was doing.

"Nothing mama." I said lookin down at the floor.

"Like I motherfuckin thought. Don't think just cause you finna be 18 you gone be talking to me any type of way. I brought you in to this world and I will take yo ass out of it. Now come on let's go." She said.

I rolled my eyes wen she walked out the door.

"Roll em again I'm snatch them bitches out." She said.

We got in the car and was on our way to he airport. I couldn't wait to get to New York freakin City!! I've never been before and I no I'm finna turn tf up! My cousin invited me to stay with him for a year or how ever long I need into I can figure out what I want to do with my life.

I just graduated high school and I wasn't ready to just jump right into college like some people. Hell I don't even no if I want to go to college if I'm being honest. I haven't told my mama that part yet, I just no she gone be on my ass about it. She already don't want me to take a year off and go to New York. But whatever it's my life and she got to let me live it how I want to.

We pulled up at the airport and I hoped out so fast I don't even think the car fully stopped.

"Damn Tracie let the car stop first." My mama said.

"Sorry mama I'm just happy asf!"

"Watch yo damn mouth girl." She said.
"Now you call me no soon you land ok?" She said with tears in her eyes.

"I will mama. Why you finna cry, what's wrong?" I said worried.

"Nothing baby, I'm just gone miss you that's all." She said pulling me into a hug.

"Aww mama, ima miss you more." I said now crying with her. "Ima call you almost every day." I said pullin away from the hug lookin at her.

"You better, cause I will catch a flight to New York." She said and we both laughed.

"Flight to New York City will be boarding now." The person said over the intercom.

"Ok baby you take care of yourself, and always be aware of your surroundings. And I love you so much." My mama said crying all over again.

I will and I love you to mama." I said giving here the biggest hug I could.

I pulled away and went to go get on the plane. I looked back at my mama one more time then turned to go get on the plane.

I took my seat in first class, then put my earphones in. I put it on one of my fav songs, Pull Up by Ann Marie and got ready for this fly to New York.

"New York City here comes Tracie Brown."
