Chapter 6: Truth or Dare

After I fell on my butt, I hastily got ready to meet Familia.

I wanted to wear something that I could move in case I had to run,  but something that didn't scream hoe.

I settled on ripped jeans and a pink Adidas tee.

I told Douglas bye and headed on my way.

My bike clicked every few seconds making me think about what was to come. It was like a beating heart, the faster I peddled the more nervous it made me.

Click Click Click

Just when I think I can't handle it anymore I look up to find that I'm there.

I come to a stop and prop my bike up against a tree.

I come to a step when I get to the field and see five people staring at me with animal masks on.

I stand there with my mouth hanging open.

The tallest 'Probably Calvin' I thought, had on a wolf mask.

The shortest 'Probably Jenny' I thought, had on a pink pig mask.

The fattest 'Probably Jose' I thought, had on a Jaguar mask.

The skinniest 'Probably Eva' I thought, had on a unicorn mask.

The other one 'Probably Mickey' I thought, had on a deer mask.

Jose or 'The Jaguar' was holding a white fox mask in his hands.

I slowly walked closer to them.

"Welcome, Bailey." said a sickening voice which I recognized.

The jaguar was definitely Jose.

"Hello, throwing a masquerade are we?" I ask referring to the masks.

"Ha ha, very funny Miss Hall, but no. This is serious business. We're playing truth or dare!" he said.

"Truth or dare? What is this first grade?" 

"No, this is the game that decides your future. Lose and you'll lose more than the game. Win, and you'll officially be apart of Familia, and get this beautiful handcrafted white fox mask to wear on jobs." 

"Such a silly little game deciding all of that?" I say in a belittling tone, and I swear I heard Eva growl beneath her mask.

"Come," Jose says.

I walk forward until I'm facing them.

"Here are the rules, we will each take a turn asking you truth or dare, if you don't answer or fail to complete the dare 3 times, Strike, you're out. Answer and complete 3 or more you win. Got it? Good! Play ball!"

I was learning quickly this guy had a very odd sense of humor.

"Calvin first!" Jose says.

"Truth or Dare?" Calvin asked.

"Truth," I answered.

"Do you want to bang me?"

I was taken aback for a moment at the straight forward question, but I knew I mustn't display uncomfortableness.

"Of course sexy!" I wink at him.

"Right answer!" he said and I could just hear the smile in his voice.

"Jenny's next!" Jose said

"Truth or Dare?"

"Dare" I smiled confidently.

"Perfect! Make out with Calvin!"

'Why are these people trying to get me to get with Calvin?' I thought

"Great!" I said smiling tho it did sound appealing, I knew this was just for show.

Calvin took off his wolf mask and he was smiling like a 9-year-old boy on crack or something.

I walk up to him and grab his face shoving my tongue into his mouth.

He responded back with his and a low moan escaped from the back of his throat as I played with his hair.

"Ok ok. I get it," she said staring at us, arms crossed.

We continued kissing, and I could feel the smile on his lips.

"OK!" she yelled making us tear apart.

I glance up at Calvin and he's blushing.

'I didn't know gangsters could blush.' I thought.

I smile and walk back to where I was standing in front of them.

"Mickey's next," said Jose

Mickey took a step forward.

"Truth or Dare?" 

I thought about it for a second. "Truth."

"Have you ever done anything illegal,  if so, elaborate?"

"Yes. I stole a 100 dollar bill from my mom, made a fake ID, and went into a nightclub, drank alcohol with said 100 dollars." I say with a brave smile.

"Childs play. I did that when I was nine, next time come up with something better." he spat stepping back.

"Eva!" Jose said.

"Truth or Dare?"

"Truth."

"Have you ever kissed a girl?"

"No"

"Hmm, we may have to fix that someday."

'What is with these people and making out?' I thought.

"Me!" he yelled with the enthusiasm of a six-year-old.

"Truth or Dare?"

I thought about it and realized if I wanted to see tomorrow I needed to pick truth. "Truth"

"Aww, ok then, that boy you were at the gas station, do you care for him?"

I tried to hide the look on my face, but it's undeniable.

"I see. this, my dear, is why we have this 'silly' little game. To find out your weaknesses. You may think this is stupid. But I ensure you Miss Hall, it is any but that."

With that, he handed me my fox mask and turned heel.

I stood there clutching the mask as if my life depends on it.

Because it just may.
