You sat at your windowsill. Quietly as you watched cold, frozen flakes fall onto the window sill. A hot mug rested in your hands its contents being hot cocoa. With steam rising and brushing against your cheeks before it vanished, the waft of chocolate hung in the air.

The heat radiated onto your cold palms. A knitted sweater was pulled over your knees that you had pulled towards your chest. You stared into the night in wonder as soft crystal's formed on your window panes, creating delicate and intricate designs. The winter was your favorite season, yet you slightly preferred spring as well. Winter was calm and cold, while spring was new life and warmth. Though most people you knew preferred hot summer days, you preferred cozy days of playing your music and watching as children played and snow fell.

The cold harsh winter never bothered you since you were a child. You found a certain comfort in the season. Not the Christmas season it bore, not the merry songs and winter sports, but the frost and snow. It enchanted you like a witch's spell. Sadly this spell was never broken.

As your phone buzzed next to you, you took a sip of your hot cocoa ignoring the call as you tried to lose yourself in a train of thoughts. You glanced next to your body and your eyes fell on one of your favorite tales. Jack Frost. A smile escaped your (L/C) lips as you set your mug down on your table nearby. Gently picking up the small child's book, your heart leapt in your chest as you caressed the old worn cover.

Opening it gently, the time weathered pages, yellowed, and slightly giving off a musty smell of your childhood, brought back many memories. You skimmed the pages as you read the all too familiar story. As you read a line aloud, a small rap echoed off of your window pane. When you glanced over, the only thing in its place was only frost. The glass was etched in the same intricate designs that were pictured in the book.

"Jack, what are you doing?" your voice was soft but full of doubt. Obviously you didn't expect an answer, so you turned back to the book. You glanced at the page which had a picture of the alleged Jack Frost. You chuckled and held the book up the window.

"Hey, Jack do you really look like this?" you spoke again this time a little louder, you felt a chill run up your spine as you began to giggle. "Come on, you know you want to answer." Your voice was taunting. Yet you knew he was only a story, which just made you sound ridiculous. You then sighed, lying down on your bed you stared at your blank ceiling before a tapping sound resonated from your window once again. You sat up and looked at it, a confused expression as you stared at the window across from your bed.

"Somebody is pulling my leg I swear..." you grumbled foul words under your breath as you trudged over to the window. You noticed that it was no longer snowing which made you pout. You noticed the tapping sound once more and you growled under your breath. As you opened the window you felt a cold gust of air envelop your body which caught you off guard at first. You looked down at the ground from your now open window and saw no one. You then sighed and tried to pull back, but you lost your balance. Before you knew it you were falling from your second story home. Your parents were out and you were home alone. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion as a scream erupted from your lips.

You felt something cold come in contact with your body and you shut your eyes, just waiting for the pain of landing on the frozen ground. When you felt nothing but coldness you opened your eyes. The scream dying from your shock as you stared at the ground which was about 4 feet away. You realized you were floating. Another scream was about to escape your lips before you were cut off by a cold ominous voice.

"Oy brat if you scream again I swear I'll freeze your mouth shut."

A squeak escaped your throat as you turned your head. Your (H/C) locks were tossed around by the cold winter breeze as you stared at the man holding you.
