“Calm down. I’ll catch you. I promise”
You didn’t know what to say, part of your consciousness wanted to believe him while another was trying to make you hold him tighter.
“No. This isn’t funny!”
“H-Hey You-ack..” he started coughing and you loosened your grip, opening your mouth to apologize you released his neck and held onto his Hoodie since you were flying horizontally, you were on his back after all.
“I’m sorry Levi…I’m just scar-“your voice was cut short by Levi rolling over in midair, and there was a big problem with that, because gravity hates everything. In this scenario all you could do is scream as you saw Levi’s figure hover in the air. “LEVI! YOU BASTARD!”
Your screams continued till you reached just below the clouds, you had closed your eyes by then because the sun had been blinding.
I swear to the Gods I will hurt you. I don’t care if your immortal or a grumpy snowman!
Curses continued to run throughout your head, anger flowing throughout your body as you began to descend even further, until you were whipped to the side all the sudden. Screaming once more, you opened your eyes to see yourself moving towards the small puffy clouds.
‘WHAT THE-“
A familiar voice soon whispered into your ear as you felt a cold hand intertwine with your own. Your breath was ragged and your throat was sore from screaming. You had no energy to smack him at the moment, even though you wish you could have.
“Told you to trust me.”
“You let me fall. You’re a big fat jerk.”
“Last time I could check I’m rather muscular then fatty. But alright.” His voice had a playful tone as you both continued to soar above the clouds. Soon the winds that carried you came to a pause and had you hovering in air.
“Levi, what was the point of that?” you hoarsely whispered as you craned your head to look at his figure. He soon flew in front of you and poked your nose causing a sneeze to erupt from your nose. His grey eyes looked at your figure and he licked his lips in a quick manner, tipping his head to the side he flew even closer to your hovering figure. Your noses were practically touching, you could even feel the cold radiate from his body.
“I needed you to know you can trust me.” His voice was filled with a pain that you couldn’t identify; maybe it was loneliness you couldn’t tell. As you looked into his eyes you saw a broken man. His sharp angled face was worn, aged. You couldn’t tell unless you were really close. His pale complexion glowed in the sunlight, making his black hair contrast creating a jet black.
“Levi…” his name rolled off your tongue now, you had become accustomed to it the past 24 hours but still it felt warm and comforting when you said it. You arms reached out and you pulled him into a hug. His frame soon stiffened and you felt the air underneath the both of you stop. A rush of air made you realize you were falling again. But you didn’t care; you knew it would be ok. You could feel it.
“I do trust you.” A soft whisper, barely audible by the air that was rushing by you as you plummeted towards the ground escaped your lips. Soon you felt him relaxed his muscles and your felt your body be pulled into his own, a firm grasp was around your back, you could feel his right hand pressing at the base of your neck.
“Good.”
Another rush of air surrounded the both of you and you both stopped falling. He pulled back from your embrace, and then hung his head. You soon reached up and put your hand under his chin tilting it upwards. His face was a soft pink, not really noticeable, but just enough to catch your eye.
“So, you do have emotions. I was scared for a moment there. You caught me off guard.” A mumble escaped your lips and his grey eyes darkened.
“I heard that”
“Ok snowman. Let’s go have that fun you were talking about.”
“Got it…”
In one swift movement he had picked your figure up and began to fly towards the unknown.
-Flashback-
A door creaked open and a small girl ran into the rather large room a large smile on her face.
“Mommy! Mommy! Read me a Story! It’s story time!”
The small figure ran up to the big bed that her mother was sitting on. Glancing over to the small child, a soft smile appeared on her exhausted face. Nodding she reached for the little girl and pulled her onto the bed.
“Ok sweetheart, what story would you like?”
“One about the snowflakes!” the small girl was enthusiastic as she clinged to her mother’s baggy t-shirt. Her mother soon reached for a lock of the small girls (H/C) and twirled it with her finger.
“Ok, how about….Santa?”
“No mommy, I already know that one.” The small girl pouted as she crawled into her mother’s lap. Looking at the ceiling her mother thought for awhile and then a smile appeared on her lips as she tapped her chin with her fore finger.
“Ok, I have one. Have you ever heard of Jack Frost?”
-End of flashback-
You both had landed in a small clearing with a pond in the center of it. Trees had been covered with snow and the branches were covered with a layer of ice. Frost patterns dance around the trunks of the trees and ice that rested on the ground mixed with snow. You noticed the pond wasn’t frozen over and you looked at Levi in a confused manner, only to receive a small throaty chuckle.
“Hold on, let me freeze it.”
Your eyes widened as he stated this, “Freeze? As in frozen?” your voice managed to squeak out, after all it still was slightly hoarse from the screaming.
“Yes you idiot.” His voice was a teasing tone and you didn’t like it. You gave him a death glare from a distance as he approached the small pond. You could see him kneel in front of the body of water. His eyes closed shut, you opened your mouth to speak but no sound came out.
Your eyes wandered to his fingers which brushed the surface of the pond in a elegant manner. I then reflected a soft light. You had to blink as you saw the entire pond begin to glow a bright white. It was a warm light that filled the area. You stepped a little closer, after all it was shiny, and you liked shiny.
“Beautiful…” a small word escaped your lips as the light began to fade in a subtle manner. Leaving traces of sparkles and shimmers on the ground and on the frozen surface of the lake. Your eyes widened in surprise as you gasped in shock.
“Do you like it?” his voice was soft, and gentle. You looked at his kneeling figure as it began to stand up. He held his staff in one hand and he tapped it on the glass-like ice.
“It’s amazing” you breathed. It sparkled like magnesium alight. It was almost blinding, but soon your eyes adjusted to the sparkling surface.
“I’m glad, now watch this.” He pointed the surface and small patterns began to etch into the ice. They we darker than the original ice, clearly showing the pretty designs contrasting against the glistening pond.
You watched in awe and amazement as the ice traveled on the frozen area. You soon walked closer and kneeled down to touch the cold surface. As your fingers brushed the designs they soon became illuminated. You squealed in delight and turned to look at Levi. Who was standing nearby staring at you. A soft smile you hadn’t seen was present on his face. As a whole this expression brought a blush to your cheeks.
What is this feeling…
