“Hello? (Y/N)?” Almight's strong voice ripped through my body. Instantly my heart began to race. Unconsciously, I gripped at my chest. “Hello?” He called again, louder than before.
“I-I'm here. I'm here!” I called, dusting myself off as I pulled myself off the dirty floor. Almight stood in the doorway holding a young blond boy by the collar of his uniform. Behind him stood a young man with messy green hair and a young woman who looked far too innocent to be in trouble. Almight looked puzzled for a moment, as if he was trying to solve a riddle.
“Why, uh…. Why were you on the floor?” My cheeks flushed.
“Oh. That's…. I was inspecting this plant.” I plastered on a smile and pointed frantically at the potted Holly plant. “It's been a slow day.” I explained as I dusted off my apron once more. “These must be your students.” I walked closer to inspect the kids. “They look strong.” I stated, eagerly trying to change the subject.
“Ah, they are.” Almight swelled with pride, as if showing of a prized show dog. I smiled softly at his childlike Glee. “Anyways. We need to work a few details out.” He addressed his students. “ Wait here, and don't break anything.” He seemed especially wary of the fiery blonde. Smiling, I gestured to a back room where we could talk.
He explained that the two boys would often fight and could be destructive.
“That young woman has not directly caused any trouble, but she tends to get involved unnecessarily. I would like for them to learn to work together.” Almight made a large open gesture with his arms. “ I'll check in with you every day to see how things are going. If you need anything you can reach me at this number.” He slid a small business card across the table. His autograph had been scribbled on the back. Biting my lip, I tried to hide my amusement. “ They'll be here every day after school and on weekends, unless otherwise specified. The hours they work are completely up to you. You don't have to pay either. This is a punishment not a job.
“Ok. I understand. We'll get started right away.” I stood, forcing my chair backwards. It was at that moment that I heard a loud crash.
“ YOU THINK YOU'RE BETTER THAN ME, DEKU? I'M GONNA CRUSH YOUR LITTLE BROCCOLI HEAD!” I could see the colour physically drain from almights face as we rushed back into the front of the store. The prickly blonde had pinned the other boy to the ground, knocking several potted plants over in the process.
“You two! When will you learn?” Almight pried the boys off each other, as I rushed to check on my plants. Several pots had shattered leaving dirt and shards of clay everywhere.
“I'm so sorry, (Y/N) -Chan.” My heart skipped a beat.
“Oh no. It's quite alright. Nobody got hurt did they? These broken pots can be very sharp.” I turned to the fallen plants, trying to hide the blush that had formed on my cheeks.
“Ah. Is that the time? I have to go, I have a meeting with the principal. Will you be alright here?” I stood dusting off my apron. “ We'll be just fine.” I smiled, turning to face Almight. “ You go and do what you need to, Toshinori-san.”
“Alrighty then. I'll be back in a few hours to check in.” He turned to the two boys. “ Don't you go causing anymore trouble, you hear?” He bowed to me before leaving.
“ Alright. Let's ignore this mess for now. Why don't we all get to know each other. If you would, please tell me your name and quirk.” I smiled gesturing for the young girl to start.
“Oh. My name is OchakoOchaco Uraraka. It's very nice to meet you.” She bowed politely.
“Uraraka-san. That's a cute name. And what is your quirk, dear?
“Oh. Anti gravity. Basically, I can make things float.”
“Oh. That'll come in handy for moving supplies. What about you?” Turning, I gestured towards a young man with very messy mossy green hair. He looked a little flustered.
“O-oh. My name is Izuku Midoriya. I’m really sorry about your Plants.” He scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
“And your quirk?” His body stiffened.
“U-uh well… That’s…..”Trailing off he looked at his feet. He began to shuffle his feet.
“I understand. You don’t need to explain.” I bowed politely. “It's nice to meet you Izuku Midoriya-san.” I said, testing his name. So this is the one Toshinori-san chose. I turned to the last student, a boy with fiery eyes and spiky blonde hair.
“The name’s Bakugou.” He scoffed. “I have the most powerful quirk of the group, explosion.” A real fire spout. But what does he remind me of…. I frowned at him.
“Hmmmm.” What is it? My frown deepened as I thought to myself. Maybe…. “Ah! A Snapdragon!” I could practically choke on the confusion in the room.
“What did you just call me?” Bakugo piped up, ready to fight.
“Calm down. It’s a compliment.”
“Compliment my ass! Don’t compare me to some lousy flower!” Bakugo grew louder and louder as Midoriya and Uraraka Laughed. This is probably the liveliest this shop has ever been. I thought to myself, a pleasant smile Pulling my cheeks up. I guess I have a full garden now.
