Part Four

Cameron and I walked out of the coffeehouse no more than an hour later. The cold nipped at my bare skin and I shivered slightly.

"You cold?" Cameron asked, offering me his jacket. I shook my head.

"I'm good."

I started to walk towards the car and Cameron soon followed me.

I wanted to just get to the car, blast on the heater and be warm again. Ever since the hallucination, I hated feeling cold and shivery.

Warmth flooded through my bare arms suddenly, and I glanced up, confused. Cameron had draped his jacket around my shoulders anyway, showing off his huge muscles underneath his shirt.

That's why I didn't want the jacket!

"Alright there?" he asked me, smirking a little. He knew damn well I was staring at him.

"I said I didn't wan-"

"You're cold," he explained, cutting my speech short. He held my hand, and I pulled his jacket around me tighter.

We reached the car and he opened the passenger door for me. I stepped in front of him and frowned.

"I can open doors, you know," I said in a mocking tone.

"Here I am thinking you couldn't," he said with a sexy grin that I could die for. I rolled my eyes at him, and a small smile stretched across my face.

"Do you know how to get in a car?" he teased, and I realised I had zoned...again. Cameron suddenly frowned and lifted my chin up gently with his hand. "Sure you're okay?"

He looked so concerned, as if I would pass out there and then. I smiled at him and looked into his chocolate eyes.

"Just thinking how lucky I am have you," I said, wrapping my arms around his neck.

He chuckled softly. "Oh, really?"

"Really," I replied smoothly, looking up at him through my eyelashes.

He snaked a hand around my back and looked down at my lips before meeting my eyes, and he leaned in.

I closed my eyes and our lips touched, letting a spark of warmth ignite my in chest. Happiness.

The jacket slid from my shoulders to the floor, but I ignored it and tangled one of my hands in his already messy hair.

Cameron nibbled my bottom lip and I opened my mouth for him immediately, enjoying every second of being close to him.

My heart fluttered and the butterflies in my stomach were driving me crazy, and I was lost in the moment.

You were right to trust me.

I froze completely; my heart was beating in my ears from fear, and the butterflies that were once in my stomach dropped dead.

I felt cold, and I pulled away from Cameron. He groaned in protest.

"What did you just say?" I snapped, my arms dropping to my sides and I stepped back.

Cameron's eyes opened and he frowned at me, muttering a confused 'sorry?'.

"You...you just said..."

His frowned deepened.

"I didn't say anything?" he said, reaching out for my arm, which was covered in goosebumps. "Babe?"

"I...swear I heard..." I frowned and realised it was in my head. I was seriously having a nightmare...in the day, whilst kissing my boyfriend?

Cameron picked up his jacket and put it around my shoulders, leading me to the passenger seat.

"S-sorry," I stammered. "I don't know what happened there." Cameron smiled and I sat in the seat. He leant in the door frame and smirked.

"You completely left me wanting more, that's what."

I couldn't help but laugh, and he kissed mg cheek before shutting my door and walking to the driver's side.

It was just a dream...a hallucination...

Cameron twisted his keys in the engine and shut the door. He turned to me.

"Uh, Earth to Lay?"

"Huh?" I looked up at him, realising I had zoned out again.

This time Cameron shook his head.

"Something is not right with you, please tell me?" He put a warm palm on my cheek and his eyes softened when they connected with my deep purple ones.

"It...it's this nightmare...I really don't know. I keep thinking its... real."

Cameron nodded and turned back to the driver's wheel, putting a hand on my knee and stroking it with his thumb.

"Let's take you home," he said. "Maybe you should catch up on some sleep, and I'll be there if you wake up, okay?"

I rolled my eyes. "In my bedroom? How will you get past the Big Man?"

Cameron laughed. "I'll be downstairs, babe. I'm not even going to risk being turned into frozen food."

I didn't reply, and turned my head to the window.

Most people were scared of my dad, and thought my mum was crazy, but they weren't bad. Though I knew Cameron was joking, he was still a little frightened of my father.

Would he be like that if I had powers? Is that how I'd be treated? Like a monster?

We pulled outside of my house and Cameron led me inside. Cameron told me to go upstairs for a nap, so I did as he went to talk to my dad.

I smiled to myself as I released how concerned he was about me.

I shut my bedroom door and threw Cameron's jacket on my desk as a flood of tiredness came over me.

Wow, I really was tired.

I fell onto my bed and shut my eyes.

"Ah, don't sleep. Things aren't quite prepared yet."

I lept up and saw the same grey figure in a far corner of my room.

"W...what?" I whispered, wondering if I was dreaming.

"For the solution, dearie. Let's call it...a new beginning."

A/N: I've officially started A Levels and already my options have been messed up by my school! Urgh! And finding outfits everyday is so tiring! Anyway, its late here and sorry if its short (and unedited) but I can hopefully upload again very soon!
