Meghan changed, let herself calm down, and checked on all of her patients before calling it a day and heading home, her shift was over.

The next morning he couldn't stop thinking about her so he decided to send her flowers, a mix of sunflowers and red roses. He had spoken to SJ about the confrontation and SJ just laughed at him and said "i told you she wasn't the same." He just wanted her to know that he really did think about her everyday, after basic he even messaged SJ to get him to convince her to speak to him so he could apologize but she refused on the account of she told SJ if Gabe ever asked about her to tell me to go... i believe it was to shove his head in a ant hill and count to 1000.

It's 4 p.m. and she was back at work to help save more lives. After she changed into her scrubs, she went to get charts from the front and there was a beautiful set of flowers on the desk, she look at the sunflowers and roses then looked at maggie, "these are beautiful. i didn't know you like sunflowers!" She leaned forward with a cheeky smile and said "hmm they aren't for me." Meghan grabbed the card and it said, "i hope these are still your favorite, I'm sorry for everything. - that dumb army man" With a number at the bottom. Before she could catch herself she frowned and rolled her eyes, Maggie said "oh that's not a good face." Just as Elizabeth came up and got the card out of her hand, "i guess tall, dark, and handsome didn't work out." She sighed and said "i don't even know why he came here. OH and he is stationed at Quantico so that'll be lovely. He just needs to stay on his base and away from me. How did he even know when i was working or... SJ. He is so going down." She rolled her eyes as Elizabeth laughed, "anyway your patient from last night.." she interjected "Mr. Johnson, Elizabeth" Elizabeth smiled at her, "Mr. Johnson is doing very well and is up." Meghan smiled at her as she began walking off she yelled "Give him a call you know he's your kryptonite." She made a face at her back and walked towards Mr. Johnson's room. After she rounded on all her patients, she was called to the ER for a consult, "this is gonna be a long one." She thought to herself as she ventured down.

Gabe had decided to go see his mother because his father was stationed on the same base. When he arrived at their house she greeted him and ushered him in, "so tell me how you're settling in, ran into anyone you know?" She asked as they sat at the table. He nodded, "a few buddies i served in Iraq with, i saw them the other day in the PX and met their wives." She nodded listening, "been off base yet?" Gabe slightly nodded, "i decided to explore a little bit, i found a little diner by the hospital." A glimmer of something manifested in her eyes, "ah that's nice. You know who i ran into a couple months ago?" He shrugged, "who?" She smiled, "The very beautiful Dr. Owens." She put the emphasis on "owens" He stopped for a moment, "oh you did? How is she doing now a days?" She gave him a side glance, hearing the apprehension in his voice, "she came to the hospital on base to deliver a donor heart from one of their patients and helped with the transplant. I've never been one for surgery but it was quite fasinating to watch as she sutured like she was in a trance." He simply nodded and looked down at his hands. "God i miss her" he thought to himself. "You know she stopped and talked to me for a moment and asked about you, just to see if you were doing alright. Oh did you see her on that magazine cover? I think i saved that issue." He sighed," yes mom i saw it, it was stunning" he added the last part quietly. His mother eyed him as he sat there "you should see her i think she works at St. John's, maybe pop in one day. I think she still cares for you." With out thinking he let out a breathy laugh and said "i doubt that." But it was too late it was already out, so he told his mother about everything he was 27 now it isn't like it mattered. She slowly nodded when he was finished, "i thought i raised you to be a better than to hurt a lady like that, especially her. I remember her when she was 18 and she came to surprise you and she jumped into the middle of a fight to protect you, i knew then that she really loved you. No one else had ever stood in the middle of a fight like that to shield you, especially not from your father. I always thought that she would be the one to become your wife." That statement alone finished the conversantion and they moved to talking about his living arrangements, but he couldn't stop playing that sentence over in his head "i thought she would be your wife." His mother had never said that about anyone.

Meghan had never been so happy to get off work than she was that day, her feet were killing her and she just wanted a nice steaming bath. She loved being a surgeon, but it was agonizing on her body. After she changed she walked past the flower on the front desk and, at the last second, grabbed them. She sat them on her kitchen counter when she got home and decided to call and thank Gabe for the flowers. It went to voice mail, of course it's 4 in the morning. "Hey Gabe, it's Meghan. Thank you for the flowers. i am sorry for the way i acted yesterday, It was immature and i should have handled it better. Anyway, thank you again for the flowers they're beautiful. Yes, they still are my favorite." After a hot bubble bath meghan slipped into bed and allowed darkness to whisk her away into a wishful slumber.
