The two reached Kevin's house by now and had walked inside. Kevin set his bag down. No need for it, anymore. Clyde set his down and the two went up to Kevin's room. Clyde wasn't as sad anymore, though his brown eyes were still dull. Kevin opened the door to his room and stepped in.
"Dude, your room is super cool!" Clyde said, his spirits lifting. Kevin's room was decorated from wall to floor with posters, stars, shelves full of comics, little action figures positioned on his desk and other shelves and the limited edition action figures were put in a glass case that was mounted on the wall beside the window. His bedspread was a galaxy with a cartoon cat on it, to Clyde's surprise. "Didn't know you were into cats, though." He continued.
"Yeah. Cats are my favorite animals. Here, kitty kitty kitty kitty kitty!" Kevin called out. A fluffy, white and gray splotched cat with sparkly blue eyes, showed up. The cat brushed it's side against Clyde's leg, letting out a warm and soft purr. The cat stalked off, his tail high, to Kevin. Kevin grabbed a bag of cat treats off his nightstand and opened the bag.
"Does Astrid want a treat? Oh yes, he does!" Kevin cooed at Astrid. The cat let out a meow of frustration. He wanted that cat treat and he wanted it now. Kevin laughed at the cat and fed it a treat. Clyde walked over and sat down next to Kevin and Astrid. Clyde ran his hand down the cats fluffy back.
"He so fluffy," Clyde remarked, fluffing up the cat's neck fluff. The cat let out a meow of agreement, but it was really just him wanting more food. Kevin gave the cat another decent-sized treat.
"One downside of being super fluffy, all the fluff that comes out during shedding season." Kevin laughed gently. Astrid purred and rolled on his back, asking for some well-deserved tummy scratches. Clyde scratched the cat's belly, making the cat almost explode with joy. One thing is for sure, Astrid adores belly scratches. Kevin watched with uncertainty, still wondering if he should still be ditching school over some acquaintance.
It'll be fine. Kevin thought to himself. The cat sat up and walked off, clearly not interested anymore. Clyde looked sad as the cat walked off, but it was only cat, after all. "So..." Kevin sighed, placing his hands and tapping his long, skinny fingers, against his legs. "What now?" He continued, hoping they could bond over something. Clyde looked around curiously, then spotted his XBox one next to his TV.
"What kind of video games do you have?" Clyde asked Kevin curiously. Kevin thought for a moment before answering.
"Well, currently I have almost all of the Star Wars games, and their consoles, same with Star Trek. I have the Star Fox games, too. I personally love the Star Fox games. I personally think Miyu and Fay would make a great couple, with Fays amazing, soft white ears and her... Ah, nevermind." Kevin started to get off topic. He was known to do that, especially with topics he loved.
"Who is Fay and who is Miyu?" Clyde asked, very confused.
"Ah, no one. Here, I have a game you might like." Kevin said as he stood up and walked over to a display case filled with games for various consoles, from the Atari 2600 to the new Xbox one to GameCube. Quite a variety, especially for someone who's only 17. Kevin pulled out a game labeled, "Guitar Hero II".
"That one is so old." Clyde complained. Though he was thankful Kevin got him out of school, he was also going to be whiney.
"Okay, then." Kevin sighed and slid it back in. He grabbed out another one, labeled "Guitar Hero Live". He faced Clyde, the game held to his chest with the title faced out. "Is this better, your highness?" He laughed playfully. As Clyde nodded cheerfully, Kevin got the game console set up. He turned the tv on and switched the input to the Xbox's input and put in the game. He grabbed the two plastic guitars and handed one over to Clyde. Kevin selected a song and got ready. The song started and Clyde could just barely make out what Kevin was mumbling under his breath.
"One, four, three, five, two..." Kevin mumbled, seeming to be really into the song. Clyde looked somewhat scared but went on. The song ended, and Kevin sighed heavily.
"You were... Really into that..." Clyde commented. Kevin nodded his head and laughed a little.
Of course I did that... Kevin thought.
