Brielle doesn't know how long she has been in bed. The only times that she has gotten up was to use the bathroom and shower.

She needed help doing those things because she was still in so much pain that it hurt to move even a muscle.

She needed support walking a couple feet away to the bathroom because if she didn't, she would crumble to the ground.

She learned that the hard way.

Jake has visited her, but he just stood in the door way, staring at her, almost as if he was examining her with his eyes.

In the beginning, Brielle was confused as t why he did that, but she forgot all about the thought since she is just uncomfortable whenever he comes and stands.

Brielle, however, is learning to ignore it when Jake stands there. She doesn't know why he doe sit and Jake doesn't know either.

Jake has always walked in so he could talk to her about the arrangement and if he thinks that she would be ready to meet his father.

However, when he gets to the room, his feet get glued to the floor as he sees the innocent in so much pain.

He always ended up regretting hurting her to that extent, but he quickly realizes that she deserved what she was given.

She was lucky it wasn't worse.

One time Jake was so mad and frustrated with the person he was trying to get information out of that he stabbed the poor man's left eye out. The guy spilled the information out, but unfortunately for him, Jake pulled out his other eyeball and stabbed him in multiple places. The poor man bled out and died.

Everyday, the nurses come into Brielle's room and change her bandages, as well as assisting her to the bathroom or helping her in the shower.

Brielle can't stand on her own for even a second since her leg is in so much pain and both of her arms won't be able to support her because she was stabbed in both.

The bruise on Brielle's cheek has turned into a nasty purple and she grimaces every time she looks at it.

Every time she sees the bruise, she hates Jake more and more.

She knows that she is going to have to play pretend with Jake and pose as his girlfriend, but she is anything but happy about it.

She is a mixture of sad, angry, disgusted, and every other negative emotion in the world.

She hates how her family doesn't pay attention to her because if they did, she wouldn't have had to go to the grocery store for dinner. Her family would've bought her food from where they went and they would of given it to her.

Memories flash in her head from the days that she was happy and appreciated. Her family acknowledged her and she felt loved.

As she grew older, it was like her family grew further and further apart from her. They put themselves on an island and left her in the ocean to fend for herself. Now look where she is at. She was a small fish in a big land of water and ended up being eaten by a shark.

A sadistic shark with spiky, sharp teeth.

She missed the good old days where her dad and her were close. Where her sibling loved her.

Brielle's eyes teared up until she blinked and the tears cascaded down her face.

Her mind wouldn't stray from the memories and soon she was sobbing. She was crying not only from her memories, but from the pain she was caused for saying no.

She couldn't believe what her life has come to.

The doorknob turned and Brielle turned her head to make it look like she was sleeping, but it was no use because her whole body was shaking.

The door was open and Jake stood there, staring at the shaking girl.

For a moment, he felt guilty and sad that he caused that pain. He quickly shook the feelings away and returned to being emotionless.

For the first time in weeks, he stepped into the room and closed the door behind himself. Brielle thought that the nurses were back, so she peeked her head to see if it was truly them.

She was terrified when she saw Jake sitting in the chair next to her bed.

Jake just stared at her face even though her eyes were bloodshot red and her face was all wet. Her nose was running and her hair was sticking to her face. He did, however, see her purple cheek.

Brielle fully sat up, even though she wasn't sure how bad it would hurt. Surprisingly, her body only gave her a light throb and that confused her.

How long has she truly been in the in house hospital.

Brielle was sitting on her bed and staring back at Jake. She looked at his raven black hair and met his piercing gaze head on.

Not too long after, she looked away from his gaze because of the intensity of it. She looked down at her hands and twiddled her fingers around each other. She looked at her arms while doing so and saw the stitches keeping her arms together.

The nurses had come a couple days ago and removed the bandages completely from her arms and leg. Her neck had already healed, but there was a scar left over from the taser.

Her leg was also stitched, but she would have a limp for a while, butfortunately not her whole life. Just when she starts walking again.

Jake leaned forward with his hand out and Brielle quickly closed her eyes, bracing for the impact. Instead of slapping her, Jake removed all the hair that was sticking to her face. Brielle sat there so still that you would have thought that she was a statue.

Jake was grateful that she didn't flinch away.

"Brielle. Today is the day where you can leave the hospital," Jake announced.

Brielle was happy, of course, that she could leave this room, but she was scared to go back out there.

She just nodded in response.

"H-How long was I i-in here f-for?" Brielle questioned, not looking at Jake.

"Three weeks."

Brielle was surprised that she was in the hospital for so long.

Jake was sitting back in his seat, watching Brielle again.

For some odd reason, he wanted to gaze at her all day. He wanted to see her reactions to things he said. He wanted to know what she thought of him.

As he sat there staring at Brielle, she turned and stood on the floor. Her body was leaning against the bed and her arms were supporting her.

Her legs were shaky as she walked, so she grabbed onto anything she could for support.

Jake sat there watching there the entire time she struggled.

Brielle went to the bathroom and when she came out, Jake was standing outside the door.

"It's time I introduce my girlfriend to everyone."

Jake wrapped an arm around Brielle's waist and lugged her along towards the door.

I am definitely not a fan of this chapter. I don't know why, but I just don't like it.

Did you guys like it?

What do you think about Jake's staring?

Will Brielle ever heal from what she experienced?
