"Ohhh Moku kun you've grown so big since the last time I saw you!"
Kou's mom pinches my cheeks and smiles widely at me, kou snickers and I give him a death glare. I look at his mom
"ma'am I was here yesterday and the day before"
she looks at me lets go and smiles
"so you were, so you were…"
his mom gets a thoughtful look in her eyes. Kou's little sisters run up to me as kou's mom walks away
"Moku kun Moku kun! Come with us"
his little sisters pull on my arms and pull me towards the living room.
"Whoa"
I trip and the girls and I fall, Kou being distracted doesn't even notice. I stare at him while his sisters try to kiss me. He's thinking so deeply about them… those two girls. I squirm away from his sister's, jump up, walk behind him and put my arms around his waist
"Kou kun are you thinking about them still?"
Kou tilts his head back on my chest to look at me and nods slightly
"yea, I'm trying to figure out what to do…"
his face is so close to mine that I want to kiss him. I let go and pull away just as his sisters get to me
"Moku kun!"
I look at them and smile
"aren't you guys like fourteen and sixteen"
they smile and nod
"yea so?"
Kou pulls me away from his sisters
"Mom! We're going out" his sisters look at him with angry faces
"I called you down for dinner, Moku kun get Kou kun to eat dinner will you?"
I look in the direction of his moms voice
"ma'am you already know when he's in a funk he won't eat"
his mom pokes out her head from the kitchen
"I also know when he's in these moods he won't listen to me but listen to you"
I look at her strangely
"he listens to me like he listens to you"
she just smiles and asks me to try. I shrug
"c'mon kou kun let's eat first"
I tug on his sleeve and he follows me with a cloudy expression. His mom was right, he listens to me in these moods but I try not to take advantage of it. We walk to the dinner table and kou sits.
His mom looks at me and waves me over.
"Moku kun I heard kou kun found a girl he really likes now, is it true? What's going to happen to Betrice"
I frown for a fraction of a second then smile
"I had no idea ma'am, if he likes another girl he'll probably break up with Betrice"
she nods
"yea probably, wait kou didn't tell you?"
I shake my head
"no ma'am"
she looks at me with a frown and sits at the table.
"Moku kun you're a liar"
kou's youngest sister angelica pulls on my shirt and smiles
"I heard you and kou kun talking upstairs, he likes a girl named Aris!"
I look at her with feigned shock
"her? That's the girl he's fallen for?"
she looks at me with a confused expression
"I could have sworn…"
I shake my head
"whatever it was you think happened or you think was said, didn't occur"
she looks at me then looks away.
"Moku kun lets go"
Kou comes and pulls me out the front door.
“K-kou kun!”
I stutter and almost fall as he drags me after him on the sidewalk.
